Moon Knight is an MCU series that was created for Disney+ by Jeremy Slater, first airing in March 2022. The series is based on the beloved Marvel Comics superhero of the same name, also known as Marc Spector. Starring Oscar Isaac in the titular role, Moon Knight was celebrated for its depiction of dissociative identity disorder (DID), its inclusion of Egyptian culture and elements, and the performances from its extremely talented cast.
Indeed, rounding out the Moon Knight cast are Ethan Hawke as the villainous Arthur Harrow, the late Gaspard Ulliel as Anton Mogart, and May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly / Scarlet Scarab, among others. Each actor’s performance helped elevate the series, and made Moon Knight a worthy, grittier addition to the MCU’s catalog. 7 Oscar Isaac Was Expelled from School in the Seventh Grade

Oscar Isaac plays the leading role of Marc Spector / Moon Knight, and he performs it well, embodying all aspects of the character, perfectly bringing to life his multiple personalities. Isaac is an A-lister and has appeared in countless titles across film and TV. Before he achieved his big break, however, he struggled to adhere to discipline as child. He was expelled from school in his youth and, in an interview with E! News, detailed that there was a long list of offenses that led to this decision.

6 Ethan Hawke is a Huge Fan of Star Wars
Ethan Hawke plays Arthur Harrow in Moon Knight, a religious zealot and cult leader associated with the Egyptian goddess Ammit. Hawke has also enjoyed a hugely successful career that has recently experienced somewhat of a resurgence. He has stated very publicly that he is a fan of the Star Wars franchise, and, per Game Rant, has gone as far as to campaign for himself to have a part in it. He has yet to secure this role, but we would certainly be interested to see what he could bring to the franchise.
5 May Calamawy’s Father Discouraged Her From Acting
May Calamaway plays Layla El-Faouly / Scarlet Scarab in Moon Knight, Marc’s wife who supports him through his endeavors as a superhero. She is excellent in this role, and it’s hard to imagine Calamawy in another type of position. She decided to pursue acting in her younger years and informed her parents that she had applied to Emerson College after dropping out of studying Industrial Design. Her father was unsure of this decision and discouraged her — however, this obviously worked out in the end.
4 Khalid Abdalla is One of the Founding Members of the Mosireen Collective in Cairo
Khalid Abdalla plays Selim, the avatar of Osiris and leader of the Ennead council, in Moon Knight. He has enjoyed a very successful career, appearing in films such as The Kite Runner, Green Zone, and United 93. As well as being a very successful actor, he is a strong political activist. He is one of the founding members of the Mosireen Collective in Cairo, which works to document and transmit images of the Egyptian evolution.
3 Gaspard Ulliel Was Made a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in France
Gaspard Ulliel is a French actor who gained popularity in French films, working with directors such as Xavier Dolan, as well as appearing the biopic Saint Laurent. He stars as Anton Mogart in Moon Knight and is equally excellent in this role. He was granted the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in France, which is something many will never achieve in their lifetime.
2 Oscar Isaac Played in Various Punk Bands in the 90s
Isaac has obviously enjoyed a very successful career as an actor, however, he appeared in various punk bands throughout the 1990s, which had names like The Worms, Closet Heterosexuals, Petrified Frogs, and The Underdogs.
