We are all aware of the impact Disney has on the film and TV industries. Childhoods were defined by the shows Disney produced. We were fed hours upon hours of content with rerun potential that could rival the most popular adult shows. Many people who grew up in the 90s and early-2000s are constantly craving the youthful nostalgia these shows provided. There is nothing like waiting up every week for a new episode, staying up late at night to watch reruns, sharing your favorite characters and songs with your friends, music videos as commercials, and who could forget the merchandise?
Now that so much time has passed, what could possibly bring back that nostalgia beyond just rewatching the shows? A reboot. Reboots of old shows are not a new idea. We have seen other network shows like Nickelodeon’s iCarly develop reboots that tailor to more mature audiences. Of course, for Disney, it would probably be something more family-friendly. In fact, some Disney shows and movies have received reboots like That’s So Raven and, more recently, The Proud Family! Looking back on some past Disney shows, we have put together a list of the ones that definitely deserve a reboot.

8 The Suite Life of Zack and Cody / The Suite Life on Deck
Disney Channel
In 2005, the first episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody aired and easily became a Disney Channel staple. Dylan and Cole Sprouse played the twins Zack and Cody, whose mother had a job singing at the Tipton Hotel. Since the family lived in the hotel, the level of antics just skyrocketed. This charming and irresistible show also showcased names like Brenda Song as London Tipton and Disney sweetheart Ashley Tisdale as Maddie. This show was so successful, in fact, that Disney Channel created a follow-up series where the twins go to school on the sea called The Suite Life On Deck, which aired for three seasons, the first in 2008. With the success of both shows being a vital part of Disney Channel’s legacy, and with most of the core cast still working in the entertainment industry, a reboot sounds like a fantastic idea to us!

7 Lizzie McGuire
Disney
This one definitely hurts. If you were a fan of Lizzie McGuire when you were younger, your ears probably perked up when the possibility of a reboot occurring came into the light a few years ago. However, no matter how excited fans were for this, Hilary Duff, who famously plays Lizzie in the show and movie, announced at the end of 2020 that the project will not be moving forward. Per Decider, Duff was pushing for a more mature show for the reboot since the audience has grown up with the characters. However, creative differences made this idea fall through the cracks. Lizzie 100% deserves a reboot, so we still have our fingers crossed that something in the future can come about.
6 Wizards of Waverly Place
If we could wave our wands and make this happen tomorrow, we would! Wizards of Waverly Place was one of the most successful and downright hilarious shows Disney Channel has ever made. Former Disney royalty Selena Gomez plays the sarcastic, kind of mean but lovable Alex Russo. Growing up a wizard is full of trials and errors, and for this family, a lot is bound to go wrong. Gomez stars alongside David Henrie and Jake T. Austin, who play her brothers in the show. Gomez and Henry remain really good friends and even teased the possibility of a reboot when they reunited a few years ago.
5 Phil of the Future
Fans of Phil of the Future should keep an eye out for announcements regarding a reboot for the show in the near future. Just recently in an interview with E! News, series star Raviv Ullman says that he is down for a Phil of the Future reboot! The show aired its first episode in 2004 and ran for two seasons. The show follows the Diffys, a family that gets blasted back into the year 2004 during their vacation on 2121. Much like any show involving time travel, pretending to fit in and be normal is vital for survival. That does not mean that it’s easy.
4 Kim Possible
First off, we aren’t going to mention the live-action Kim Possible movie. Nope. The animated Kim Possible show is iconic, and we would love to see a reboot of the show. The show first aired in 2002 and ran for four seasons, totaling 87 episodes. Kim is a cheerleader in high school and her best friend Ron Stoppable is the perfect sidekick for this show. Also, how can we forget Rufus, Ron’s pet naked mole rat? We can already hear the first few notes of the theme song. Time to cross your fingers for an animated reboot of this loved show.
3 Good Luck Charlie
Disney Chanel
Good Luck Charlie is the kind of show whose premise seems to have aged perfectly. This show follows Teddy (Bridget Mendler) and her siblings PJ, Gabe, and Charlie. Teddy decides to record video diaries to teach Charlie lessons about growing up. Therefore, after every episode, Teddy records a little lesson for Charlie, ending the clip with a well-fitting “Good luck, Charlie!” This show ran for four seasons, its first airing back in 2010.
2 My Babysitter’s a Vampire
My Babysitter’s a Vampire has to be one of the most underrated shows in Disney Channel history. This hilarious show gave us three nerdy high school boys when they befriend the school’s “cool girls” who also happen to become vampires. What is all considered to be a recipe for disaster, the group of friends is tasked with having to defeat monsters as well as keeping their vampirism a secret from the people in their life. It’s time for this show to get the recognition it deserves, and what better way to do that than a reboot?
1 Phineas and Ferb
Phineas and Ferb might be the best animated series Disney has ever created. Two genius kids take advantage of the 104 days of summer vacation before school comes along just to end it. They build roller coasters, fight mummies, and much more, usually all in the comfort of their own backyard. They also happen to have every last bit of chaos gone before their sister Candace, voiced by Ashley Tisdale, could get them in trouble. The last episode of Phineas and Ferb came out in 2015, but no one would really mind if they made a comeback.
