Actress Donna Mills is well-known for her multi-decade television and soap career. The 82-year-old Mills is slated to play a character named Layla Laughlin on the January 17th episode of The Rookie: Feds, a spin-off from the original series, The Rookie.

According to ABC’s official casting announcement, Laughlin is a cosmetics maven who started her career in her kitchen making her own products and will be the subject of an investigation alongside the character Brendon Acres, who is an actor-turned-FBI played by Kevin Zegers (Frozen).

The logline for the episode states,

The crime series, The Rookie: Feds is a spin-off from the original series, The Rookie, which is about a man, Nathan Fillion, who pursues his dream of becoming a police officer later in life and is the oldest rookie in LAPD history. The Rookie: Feds follows the same premise but is about the oldest female FBI rookie, Simone Clark, played by Niecy Nash (Reno 911).

“As the unit investigates a murder victim whose body has been drained of blood, the gruesome case catches the attention of a true crime show, and Brendon shares his ‘Vampire Cop’ expertise to help solve the case.”

Guest star Donna Mills has graced screens large and small in her five-decade-long career. Mills was featured in Jordan Peele’s, Nope, in which she played the victim of a chimpanzee attack.

Mills began her career in the entertainment industry in the 1960s and quickly made a name for herself in Hollywood as a versatile and talented actress. She has appeared in various genres, from Westerns to science fiction to medical dramas. One of her earliest and most memorable roles was in the long-running Western television series Gunsmoke, in which she played the character of Clara Edwards.

Throughout her career, Mills has appeared in many iconic and critically acclaimed productions such as The Six Million Dollar Man, S.W.A.T., The Love Boat, Young Maverick, General Hospital, and Melrose Place.
