Following public revelations that GMA3: What You Need To Know hosts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach were involved in a romantic relationship, the two anchors are now poised to depart ABC for good after their mediation with the company on January 26, 2023.

According to TMZ’s sources at ABC, the two GMA3 anchors have severed ties with the network and will receive payouts per their contracts following a marathon mediation session on Thursday. TMZ reports:

Holmes and Robach have co-hosted the GMA spin-off since September 2020, joining ABC News chief medical correspondent Jennifer Ashton. However, last month, ABC News President Kim Godwin told GMA3 staffers that the co-hosts would be taken off the air until an internal investigation could be conducted. Per Deadline, Godwin told the staffers that Holmes and Robach’s relationship was an “internal and external distraction” because “their relationship had been the subject of tabloid headlines.”

According to TMZ’s sources, it was clear during the mediation session that Holmes and Robach did not handle their workplace romance appropriately. Furthermore, the couple’s “behavior on set” was “uncomfortable” to some ABC staffers.

T.J. Holmes Reportedly Had Prior Affair Before Amy Robach

Holmes’ relationship with Robach wasn’t the anchor’s first workplace romance. Before he started a relationship with his co-host, T.J. had a three-year affair with a married GMA3 producer that started in 2016. Per Page Six, the duo even confided in Robach about their infidelity.

“Amy was the person they went to talk to about their affair and marriages,” one insider claimed. Another source, however, insisted that “she didn’t know about the affair until it was in its final stages. They told her about it right at the end.”

ABC has yet to officially Holmes and Robach’s exit from the show, but it’s expected soon. Since the co-hosts were taken off the air, GMA3 has featured fill-in hosts.
