The 2018 animated adventure, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, continues to be beloved by Spider-Man fans. It is regarded as not just one of the best Spider-Man films, but one of the best superhero films of all time. Fans are now hoping the 2023 sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, will be just as good as the first. Time will tell whether it lives up to the hype, but if you like the Multiverse shenanigans of the first one, you’ll be pleased to know that that’s being dialed up to 11.
Across the Spider-Verse features both new and familiar faces. The Multiverse is a big place, and we’re only beginning to scratch the surface of what it entails. Of course, the sequel will still be a Miles Morales-centric story, but there are a lot of characters that will cross paths with our Spider-Man. Here’s every Spider-Man confirmed to make an appearance in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

19 Spider-Man (Miles Morales)
Sony Pictures
Let’s get the obvious one out of the way. Miles Morales returns as the protagonist in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with Shameik Moore once again reprising his voice role. Morales is now older, and will come into conflict with Spider-Man 2099 and The Spot. Outside of the animated Spider-Verse films, fans are growing particularly fond of Miles Morales in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.

13 Japanese Spider-Man
Toei Company, Marvel
Across the Spider-Verse will feature Takuya Yamashiro, who has his origins in the Japanese live-action Spider-Man series from the late seventies. Unlike most versions of Spider-Man, Takuya does not web sling.
12 Insomniac’s Spider-Man
Sony, Insomniac Games
Insomniac’s Spider-Man games are considered to feature one of the best depictions of Peter Parker ever. It is also not known if Yuri Lowenthal’s voice will even be heard.

7 Spider-Monkey
Earth-8101 in the Marvel Multiverse is referred to as the “Marvel Apes” universe. A counterpart of Earth-616’s Peter Parker exists in Earth-8101, who possesses the combined powers of both a spider and a monkey. The legal system works very differently in 8101, with villains being killed if they refuse to reform. Spider-Monkey adheres to the status quo, displaying a willingness to kill.
6 Bombastic Bag-Man
When Reed Richards separates an alien symbiote from Peter, Peter is left without a costume. The Human Torch gives Peter a Fantastic Four suit with a “Kick Me” sign on the back. As Peter travels across the city, he utilizes a brown paper bag as a mask, becoming known as the “Bombastic Bag-Man.”
5 Lady Spider
On Earth-803, Maybelle Reilly (Aunt May) designs a four-armed “spider” harness for herself as well as web shooters. She uses these inventions to become the “Lady Spider,” later joining the Multiverse’s Spider-Army to combat evil. Sony is currently developing a live-action Madame Web movie, but the character also appears on the poster of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. She eventually loses the “Spider-Woman” alias and adopts the new name of “Madame Web.”

Parker and Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
