Adrien Brody is set to join Apple’s original film Ghosted. The movie also stars Chris Evans and Ana De Armas as they reunite after their roles in Knives Out and will be directed by Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle, Rocketman). The film, coined as a high-concept romantic action-adventure film, will be produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, along with Jules Daly. Evans and De Armas will serve as producer and executive producer. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland, Deadpool) are the writers of the film and are also set to produce as well. They developed the script based on their original idea and then sold it to Skydance.

The film is part of a slate at Apple Original Films that includes Finch, starring Tom Hanks; Swan Song, starring Mahershala Ali; The Tragedy of Macbeth, starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand; and Emancipation, from director Antoine Fuqua and starring and produced by Will Smith. Apple and Skydance Media’s partnership also includes The Greatest Beer Run Ever from director Peter Farrelly, and Apple and Skydance Animation also have a multi-year partnership.

Scarlet Johansson and Evans, known for playing Black Widow and Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had initially been paired up for Ghosted. The deal for the Apple film was the second Johansson signed after filing her lawsuit against Disney over alleged contract breaches with the Disney+ release of Black Widow. However, Johansson exited the film after scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Ana De Armas.

As for Brody, the actor is well known for his Oscar win for The Pianist. Brody has been staying busy in both film and TV as he looks to take on incredible roles such as Josh Aaronson in the third and most recent season of Succession, where he plays a billionaire investor who poses a threat to the future of the Roy company. He followed that up by reuniting with his frequent collaborator Wes Anderson on the set of The French Dispatch. His upcoming roles include Showtime’s Los Angeles Lakers series Winning Time, where he will play coach Pat Riley during the Lakers dynasty run of the ’80s. He has also finished filming on Asteroid, another Anderson project that will be released this year.

Although not much has been disclosed about Brody’s role in the film, his background in romance and drama makes him a great fit. Paired with Evans and De Armas, the trio’s talent is sure to make Ghosted a hit. Additionally, No release date has been revealed, but production on the film has begun.
