Agatha: Coven of Chaos Was a Surprise Addition to the MCU’s Roadmap
Disney Platform Distribution
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been one of the most successful franchises in recent years, and its success has been largely due to the intricate plans and storylines woven together over the past decade. From Iron Man to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the MCU has captivated audiences with its mix of action-packed storytelling and beloved characters.
It’s no surprise that the MCU has a roadmap of projects planned out in advance, with each chapter of the saga carefully planned and adjusted as needed. However, it seems that even the most carefully laid plans can sometimes be subject to change. This was recently highlighted by Kathryn Hahn, who stars in the upcoming MCU series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos. According to Hahn, her solo series was not part of the original plan for the MCU until the success of the show WandaVision. Marvel was quick to capitalize on its success and add another project to its ever-growing slate.
Agatha’s first comic book appearance was in a story centered around The Fantastic Four, who are now set to appear at the start of Phase 6. With The Fantastic Four heading into the MCU, there has been a lot of speculation about how Agatha: Coven of Chaos could tie into their story. There are some theories that the arrival of the quartet could be teased in the show, and another popular fan theory suggests that Mephisto could also appear in some capacity. After being falsely predicted to appear in WandaVision and almost every other Marvel project since, could the MCU’s devil finally make an appearance in the middle of a witchy tale?
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to debut on Disney+ in late 2023 or early 2024.
