Check out the Disney+ teaser trailer and this first look at Star Wars: Ahsoka below.

Beloved Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano finally made her live action debut during the second season of The Mandalorian. Portrayed flawlessly by Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Clerks III star Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka was introduced in the episode “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” where it was implied that she has continued her search for Ezra Bridger, who was seemingly sucked into a wormhole during his battle with Thrawn during the animated series, Star Wars Rebels.

While details of what the Ahsoka standalone series will involve remain largely under wraps, a leaked synopsis has claimed that Ahsoka Tano “is on the hunt for the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn in the hope it will help her locate the missing Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi that disappeared with Thrawn many years ago."

Alongside the live action debut of Ahsoka, Star Wars fans have also been waiting patiently for both Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn to make their triumphant leap from animation to the real world. While news has been scarce regarding the latter, the former will be played in Ahsoka by King Richard and The Inspection star Eman Esfandi.

The rest of the Ahsoka cast includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, as well as Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka’s former Jedi mentor.

Ahsoka Has Been Described as a ‘Religious Experience’ by Dave Filoni

While we await confirmation regarding what sort of adventure Ahsoka Tano will embark on during her live action spinoff series, writer and creator Dave Filoni has teased just how much the show will affect Star Wars fans, calling it nothing less than a “religious experience.”

“So, I will say this. I will probably get in trouble for saying this, but Dave [Filoni] saw one of the episodes already edited together, and he walked up, him and Carrie Beck, both, like, glossy-eyed, and he said to me that it was ‘a religious experience,’” Rosario Dawson revealed earlier this year.

Ahsoka is just one of several Star Wars projects set for release on Disney+ next year. Most anticipated of all is the continuing adventures of The Mandalorian, with the third season scheduled to premiere on March 1, 2023. The streaming platform will also debut the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law, and the second season of the animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions.

Ahsoka is scheduled to be released in 2023 on Disney+.
