After many years of false starts on getting a live-action adaptation of Fallout made, cameras have officially begun rolling on the TV series that’s in the works at Prime Video. Based on the popular video game franchise of the same name, Fallout is a series set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by nuclear warfare. Radioactive mutants and murderous raiders are among the many dangers that survivors will be faced with as they traverse the barren wasteland.

One of the show’s main stars is Walton Goggins, who plays a “Ghoul,” a human being left looking zombie-like due to radiation damage, in the series. Taking to Instagram, the actor posted an image of himself on the set outside of his trailer to announce that filming has now started on Fallout, and he seems pretty stoked to get to work. We can only imagine what Goggins will look like after spending some time in the makeup chair for his transformation into a Ghoul.

Fallout Will Reimagine the Video Game Series in Live-Action

     Bethesda Softworks

Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan developed the series for Prime Video and the team of Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as series showrunners. It had previously been announced that Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Army of the Dead) would also be starring in Fallout. Other recent cast additions include Kyle MacLachlan (Dune, Twin Peaks), Xelia Mendes-Jones (Sans Comic, Havoc), and Aaron Moten (Disjoined, Father Stu). Details on their characters are not clear and no plot details have been revealed, though it is presumed that the series will similarly be set in a post-apocalyptic landscape occupied by vault dwellers and other survivors.
