The trailer opens with some voiceover by J.K. Simmons, who is playing Omni-Man, the father of Steven Yeun’s Mark Grayson. The two are then seen playing a rather unique, super-powered game of catch. We then follow Mark as he takes out several bad guys in ultra-violent fashion. This is not going to be your average capes and tights comic book tale. That much is certain.

Other cast members include Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Seth Rogen (Pineappel Express), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Jason Mantzoukas (The League) and Mae Whitman (Good Girls). Simon Racioppa (Teen Titans) is serving as showrunner. Robert Kirkman also revealed, somewhat reluctantly, that Star Trek alum Michael Dorn will be voicing Battle Beast in the series.
“We’re definitely not holding back on the violence at all. If anything, the violence is a little bit more intense. It’s moving, it is at times a little bit more gruesome, which is cool. It’s a very important element to the story. I think that it’s kinda the secret sauce of Invincible. This is a mundane, domestic, everyday family dealing with family drama but it’s juxtaposed against what it’s like to be a superhero living in a world populated by superheroes.”
“We’re definitely getting Battle Beast. 100 percent, definitely getting Battle Beast. We should have talked about this beforehand but I’ll break protocol. He’s 100 percent in the show. Michael Dorn is doing his voice. There’s a scoop for this panel. I love Michael Dorn. He was absolutely amazing doing the voice. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted. I was in the recording booth and I was almost crying. I cried a lot in the recording booth. It was a crazy dream come true.”
