For better or for worse, one of the revelations from the Depp v Heard trial that has gotten the most attention is the alleged incident involving fecal matter in the couple’s bed. Johnny Depp, who’s suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million, alleges that he and Heard had a particularly bad argument on the day of her 30th birthday. According to Depp, he was shown a photograph the next day of the couple’s bed which had apparently been soiled with feces.
“On my side of the bed was human fecal matter,” Depp testified in court. “I laughed. It was so outside. It was so bizarre and so grotesque that I could only laugh.”

Depp also says Heard had blamed the couple’s dogs for the soiled bed, but he was not buying this explanation. The former Pirates of the Caribbean star says that the dogs were teacup Yorkies that only weighed four pounds each, arguing that they wouldn’t have been physically able to produce what was left in the sheets. Depp also says he and his staff had cleaned up after the dogs before and they could tell that it “just wasn’t” from the animals.
Additionally, Depp witness Starling Jenkins III, a longtime employee of the actor, also testified about the situation earlier in the trial. Jenkins says he chauffered Heard and her friends after the incident. He alleges that Heard told him that what happened in the bed was a “horrible practical joke gone wrong.”
Heard, counter-suing Depp for $100 million, took the stand on Monday to present more of her side of this case. She argues against the idea that she had ever admitted to the “practical joke” to Jenkins, denying that she was involved. Heard also testified that she wouldn’t have found it funny to carry out any kind of practical jokes at the time due to an alleged attack suffered the day before by Depp.

In her testimony, Amber Heard says that the couple’s teacup Yorkie, Boo, had defecated in the bed. According to Heard, this is because the dog has had bowel issues since consuming marijuana as a puppy. Heard testified that this would sometimes lead to the dog having bowel movements indoors. On the day of the incident, Heard said she had left the dogs on the bed while she packed for a musical festival trip. She claimed to have not noticed that Boo must have had an accident on the bed.
The trial continues.
