Andor had one of the best season finales of any Star Wars series. The way it ties into the rest of the canon and sets us up for season 2 is perfect. But Andor leaves a lot of loose ends in the last episode. Though, it was always meant to be this way. Director Tony Gilroy told us before the series even started that the plan was to resolve the storyline in two seasons. But with all the action, anticipation, and revolutionary moments in the last episode, we’ve got several questions about what comes next.
When Andor finally pledged himself to Luthen and Mon Mothma married off her daughter, these were both significant steps on a journey that we already know the end to. But a few more things happened that might develop into something much bigger. Will Bix and Brasso escape Ferrix and make it to Gangi Moon? And what will happen between Syril Karn and Dedra Meero after that little emotional moment they had inside a Ferrix storage room? There are also a few other threads from the series we’d like to see resolved. As we wait with bated breath for season 2, these are the things we want to see happen.

What Sacrifices Will There Be For the Rebellion?
Disney+
After a whole season of running away from his destiny, Andor finally joined Luthen Rael. The Rebellion still isn’t the fully realized organization we saw in A New Hope, but it is well on its way to coming together. At the start of the season, all Luthen had was a series of contacts and a plan for a robbery. Now, independent groups of people all over the galaxy are hearing a call to action. The heist on Aldhani became famous in several systems overnight. The riot on Ferrix may have only been the first of many actions of rebellion. The locals on Narkina 5 were willing to give up a bounty on prisoners just out of spite!
In the coming season, we expect to see a much bigger, much more coordinated Rebellion begin to form. As Andor and Luthen start working together to gain followers and subvert the Empire’s attempts at control, we’ll likely see more examples of planets rising up by themselves. Andor and Luthen’s main goal will be finding the plans for the Death Star, which they don’t even know exists yet. But as we saw in the post-credits scene, the strange hexagonal pieces Andor was building in prison were parts that were being fit into the massive space station. This might provide them with some lead and eventually set them up for the events of Rogue One.
Mon Mothma’s role in the Rebellion will probably change as well. In the final episode, we saw her take steps to marry off her daughter. She also wrongly accused her husband of gambling in order to cover up her recent financial changes. Mon Mothma is walking a dark path in which she might end up sacrificing her family for the Rebellion. It’s likely in this next season that we might see her separate from her family entirely.
Will Andor Season 2 Return to Ferrix?
Last we left Ferrix, the riot on Rix Road was still raging. We saw Andor lead Bix to a ship with Brasso and a few others and told them to escape to a place called Gangi Moon. But back in town, we didn’t see the Empire retreat or the fighting stop. The hotel was practically destroyed, so the people of Ferrix probably won that day.
In the next season, we might see Ferrix become the home of the very first Rebel base. Alternatively, we might see the Empire retaliate so fiercely they destroy the city. It’s possible we may never return to Ferrix in season 2.
Despite the fate of Ferrix, all of Andor’s friends from his adopted-home planet are headed to Gangi Moon, a new location, where he intends to meet them later. This tiny group, composed of Bix, Brasso, Wilmon, Pegla, and Jezzi, seems to be the only bunch of people who might make it out of Ferrix safely. And what lies in store for them, we can hardly say.
What Will Become of Syril Karn and Dedra Meero?
Meanwhile, during the riot, we saw Syril Karn save Dedra Meero from being trampled by a stampeding crowd. They shared a moment together in a tight space, overcome with emotion and adrenalin. For a split second, it seemed like they were going to kiss, but that might have been jumping the gun a little.
This life debt that Dedra now owes Syril will probably lead to him getting a full position in the Empire, likely close to Dedra on her personal team. We can probably expect Syril to become an Imperial officer next season. And maybe there might be a bit of will they/won’t they between him and Dedra Meero.
We certainly have a lot of exciting events to look forward to in Andor season 2. It’s already on its way, so hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long. We’re all stoked to see what happens to the Rebellion’s favorite spy.
