7 Lie With Me (2004)

Created by Stephen Butchard, this two-part crime drama series is another British production. Lincoln plays the role of Will Tomlinson, a detective who is tasked with the investigation of a complicated murder. Torn between desire and duty, Lincoln utilized his acting chops to their full prowess, resulting in an incredible performance. Ros Tyler (Eve Best) is a young woman who wakes up after being drugged, to find that she’s been sexually assaulted, and her roommate has been murdered. Having no recollection of the previous night’s events, she is forced to cooperate with Lead Investigator Will Tomlinson (Andrew Lincoln). The two set out to find the culprit, but their attraction towards each other gets in the way of the investigation.

6 Penguin Bloom (2020)

Adapted from the novel by Cameron Bloom and Bradley Trevor Greive, this biographical drama film is directed by Glendyn Ivin. Starring and produced by Naomi Watts, Penguin Bloom features Andrew Lincoln in the role of her supportive husband Cameron, who goes to great lengths to ensure the safety of his family, after his wife’s accident. While on vacation in Thailand, Sam Bloom (Naomi Watts) falls off a high balcony and breaks her back, resulting in her being paralyzed. Returning home to Australia, Sam struggles to adapt to life in a wheelchair; however, support from her husband, Cameron (Andrew Lincoln); her mother Jan (Jacki Weaver), her three sons, and a little injured magpie named Penguin, makes life a little more bearable.

5 The Woman In White (1997)

Adapted from the novel by Wilkie Collins, this two-part BBC TV costume drama series is directed by Tim Fywell. Lincoln brings forth his handsome poise as Walter Hartright, the charming, and brave tutor for the two Fairlie daughters. One of his first performances as a righteous, kind hero, turned him into a heartthrob during the time, bringing in a number of fans. Marian (Tara Fitzgerald) and Laura Fairlie (Justine Waddell) are half-sisters, who are inseparable. When Laura’s mother dies, leaving her a huge fortune, she is approached by many suitors with ill intentions. Laura soon becomes smitten with Sir Percival Glyde (James Wilby), leading Marian to suspect ulterior motives. Lincoln plays the role of Michael Collins, an astronaut who is preparing to go on the journey to the moon. With an incredible performance, layered with dedication to his job and acceptance of his medical limitations, Lincoln stands tall as the most memorable protagonist in the film. Moonshot follows the story of the Apollo 11 spacecraft’s moon-landing. The film utilizes actual footage taken during the time, referred to as Space Race.

3 Afterlife (2005-2006)

Andrew Lincoln brings to life the role of a university lecturer with a penchant for the occult and the supernatural. It’s a chilling, nuanced performance, that earned him an Outstanding Actor award at the 2007 Golden Nymph Awards. 2 Love Actually (2003)

Directed by Richard Curtis, this Christmas-themed romantic-comedy film is a holiday classic, and one of the most watched rom-coms of all time. Andrew Lincoln brings to life the sad character of Mark, a man who’s in love with his best friend Peter’s (Chiwetel Ejiofor) wife, Juliet (Keira Knightley). His cue cards scene with Christmas carols playing in the background is the most popular part of the movie, with many future works paying homage to it.

Featuring an ensemble cast in a joint collaboration between the United States, the United Kingdom and France, Love Actually explores ten separate stories about love, life, and happiness, that unfold in the weeks leading up to Christmas, with all of them culminating as the holidays arrive.
