Comedian and actor Andy Dick is in custody after his latest arrest, and the entire incident was captured on video. Per TMZ, Dick was arrested on charges of felony sexual battery after an adult male accused him of sexual assault at the O’Neill Regional Park. The incident was recorded and livestreamed on Captain Content’s RV live stream on Wednesday, and the video has been rapidly spreading throughout social media since. You can watch the clip below.
In the video, deputies greet Dick at the door of a trailer before placing him and handcuffs and escorting him to a nearby vehicle. Reportedly, Dick has been living in this trailer with a group of live streamers which may explain why his arrest was able to be broadcast live as it happened. After the arrest, police entered the trailer and “asked to collect the male victim’s pants as evidence.”
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Dick has had brushes with the law dating back decades. This includes a prior incident in 2008 when he allegedly removed a teenage girl’s top, and after cops found cannabis and Xanax in his possession, he was charged and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and marijuana possession. In 2010, Dick was arrested after allegedly groping a bartender and a patron at a West Virginia bar, but the charges were later dismissed. He later pled not guilty in 2018 and 2019 on two separate incidents of allegedly groping people, and in 2021, he was arrested again for felony assault with a deadly weapon.
Andy Dick Has Long Been Controversial
There have also been reported instances of Andy Dick having problematic behavior on movie sets. In 2015, it was reported that Dick had been fired from his role in the James Buchanan biopic Raising Buchanan. One day after he shot his role as Lancaster Guy, which later had to be re-shot with Robert Ben Garant, it was alleged that Dick has been acting inappropriately with his co-stars, prompting complaints that led to his removal from the film.
Reportedly, Dick’s behavior was alleged to include “groping people’s genitals, unwanted kissing/locking, and sexual propositions of at least four member of the production.” At the time, Dick released a statement, per THR, suggesting that the claims had been blown out of proportion and that he’s never groped anyone. Though, he did admit that he may have “licked” some of his co-workers that day. As Dick explained:
Dick also said he may have tried to pursue “a date” with certain people he’d met, but insisted that he’d always moved on anytime he was rejected. The comedian also claimed to have learned his lesson.
