Venom 3 has now been confirmed to be in the early stages, and along with the return of Tom Hardy as the titular antihero, Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis is also hoping for a comeback. While it seems he has not had the phone call from Sony just yet, Serkis declared that he would love the opportunity to once again play in the arena of the Venom-Verse.
Directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, and based on a story she wrote alongside Tom Hardy who stars as the movie’s unorthodox central couple, Eddie Brock and Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson, and reunites audiences with Brock and his extra-terrestrial buddy as the crusading journalist attempts to reignite his career in journalism by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of an alien symbiote similar to Venom named Carnage.
“I mean, yeah, of course. It’s such a wonderful world to play in. And I’m sure there will be, I’m sure there will be. Well, hopefully…. I don’t want to count our chickens. But yeah, of course. It was such a fun world to play in.”

Serkis went on to explain what he believes made Venom: Let There Be Carnage a success with audiences, and it’s something that he would no doubt want to continue in a third adventure. “The whole thing about this movie was getting the tonal balance right, so that it never became self-referential and in-jokey,” he continued. “It never got to that. It was always just really clever writing and clever playing of the writing that I think kept it buoyant, bubbly, and fun, really fun. The relationship with Eddie and Venom, when they’re clashing and all of that, is really hilarious.”
Much like its predecessor, Venom: Let There Be Carnage was met with mixed reviews from critics, but, again like the first Venom, the sequel garnered was well-received by audiences, garnering an impressive box office and thus leading to a third outing for Brock and his gooey pal. Producer Amy Pascal has now confirmed that Venom 3 is in the early stages saying, “We are in the planning stages right now but what we are focused on is getting everybody to come and see No Way Home.”
The post-credits scene at the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage brought Sony’s Venom-Verse and the Marvel Cinematic Universe closer than ever before, with the symbiote transporting Eddie Brock through the multiverse and into the MCU, with the pair even seeing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson on the news.
Tom Hardy meanwhile is excited to gradually merge the two universes together, revealing that, so long as all the necessary pieces are in place, Venom 3 could see Venom and Spider-Man finally collide. “There’s a Venom-Verse, there’s a Spider-Verse, there’s multiverses, there’s all kinds of canon and lore and mythology to explore both laterally and forward in time,” the actor explained. “I think with the right people and the right planning, and feedback from the audience, and understanding it’s about making the right choices at the right time… Even with foresight of understanding where things may go already or they wish to go, it’s a combination of all those in the alchemy of what it will be.” This comes to us from Metro.
