The first trailer for the upcoming Marvel outing, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, was finally unveiled yesterday, with the footage at last pulling back the curtain just a little on what has been described as an MCU-altering adventure. Now, Marvel Studios has released a new synopsis, revealing further details regarding the Ant-Man sequel.

Based on the long-awaited trailer and now this new synopsis, it certainly looks like Scott Lang and his gang will spend the majority of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in the Quantum Realm. A largely unexplored element of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the footage and the synopsis tease a whole new world inside the realm, with all manner of different creatures living inside it.

“In the film, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.”

One such creature will be Jonathan Majors’ time-traveling, multiverse-exploring warrior supervillain, Kang the Conqueror. A variant of He Who Remains, a character who appeared at the end of the Disney+ series Loki and warned of the danger of unleashing his alternates, Kang the Conqueror will survive the events of his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (unlike so many other MCU villains) and become the next major threat, eventually taking on The Avengers in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025.
