The Marvel Cinematic Universe has thrown up some unexpected projects recently, and one of the most divisive to date has been She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Taking the form of a straight-up comedy series, there have been many Marvel fans who have not quite gotten on board the train, even with the series offering up plenty of Easter eggs, MCU teases, and plenty of laughs…oh, and a big helping of Wong, which is always a good thing. A fan of this different style of MCU show is Anthony Mackie, who has already headlined his own Disney+ series with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been a fun addition to the MCU, and according to recent comments by one of the show’s directors, the final episodes will not play out as many expect. Of course, we already know that Daredevil will make his debut in the upcoming episodes, and we can also hope for a bit more from Wong as the series draws to a close. When it comes to the show’s differences from its predecessors, Anthony Mackie thinks it is great that Marvel’s writers have been able to create something that doesn’t follow a set format. He told IMDb:
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
“She-Hulk was great, being the last series to come out on Disney+. You know, it was just different than their norm. You could see Marvel giving writers the opportunity to spread their wings and look at the Marvel universe in a different way.”

Although the MCU is known for big blockbuster set-pieces and intricately connected narrative, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has mostly abandoned the tried and tested template in favor of delivering something completely unlike anything that has previously been seen in the MCU. This has included lead character Jennifer Walters breaking the fourth wall to speak directly to the audience and plenty of silly, throwaway moments, which is pretty much exactly what the She-Hulk comics are like. For this reason, the series is actually a perfect representation of its source material, and those who are familiar with the early She-Hulk comics have frequently stated this in online discussions about the series.
However, She-Hulk director Anu Valia, who worked on episodes 5-7 of the series, recently hinted that there are plenty of surprises coming in the final part of the season. Whether this means that things will take a more action-packed direction like the finale of WandaVision is yet to be seen, but Valia previously said:
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has just dropped its sixth episode on Disney+, with all previous episodes also available on the platform.
“Yeah, I’m just excited. I think where the rest of the season goes is so fun and different, and ideally not what you expect. And so I’m hoping people are surprised and a little like, ‘Oh, they’re having some fun with this.’ So just keep watching it. I really think it’ll be fun. I hope people like it.”
