Antony Starr plays Homelander in Prime Video’s The Boys. His character may be one of the most self-centered, vilest, repulsive villains in recent memory, but that doesn’t stop fans from loving his memorable performances. Starr has been a member of the cast since the first episode of the series, constantly tormenting The Boys and Starlight, along with anyone who dares to get in his way.

During Season 1, Homelander was a prominent member of the Seven, a group of superheroes who parody Marvel’s Avengers and DC’s Justice League. During that time, the Seven consisted of A-Train, Starlight, The Deep, Translucent, Black Noir, and Queen Maeve alongside Homelander. But, of course, those who watched The Boys will know the Seven has seen some shakeups over the seasons, and it’s been difficult for the group to keep a consistent number from which their name comes from.

The Boys Season 4 has recently begun production, and Antony Starr confirmed reports, announcing filming has started. The news comes from his Twitter account, including a throwback picture of the Seven in Season 1, and reads: ‘Season one. So long ago. Season four, now we begin.’

Of course, this group didn’t see much time together, with Translucent meeting his gruesome demise early in the show. Since Queen Maeve, Starlight, and Black Noir are officially out of the Seven, their numbers seem to be dwindling each season.

The Boys Creator Says The Seven is a Running Joke

The Seven has lacked seven members since the start of season 1, with Hughie detonating Translucent. The Deep would later be exiled from the group for his sexual assault involving Starlight, and since then, we’ve hardly seen the group at full capacity. Stormfront was added to the team for a bit; however, she too was killed, and the group kept its low numbers. The idea of the Seven has become a running joke for creator Eric Kripke. He tells Variety that since the beginning, there’s ‘almost never seven members of the Seven.’

Following the season 3 finale, the only remaining members of the Seven are A-Train, Homelander, and The Deep, who recently regained his spot on the team. Season 4 should be interesting, as the world’s most extraordinary superhero group looks to reinforce their ranks.

“It’s been a running joke for us from the beginning that there’s almost never seven members of the Seven. After Episode 2 of Season 1, when Translucent explodes, that’s sort of it for the longest time, because then the Deep leaves and Stormfront comes in, but there’s never seven of them. So they have to really reinforce their ranks, I think that’s going to be one of the exciting new introductions in the next season.”
