Nothing is demeaning about putting in an honest day’s work at any ordinary place of employment, but when the employee is an actor from a very wealthy yet scandal-filled family, curiosity is sure to pique. Last week, when a flyer of Lone Ranger actor Armie Hammer stating he was working as a hotel concierge was blasted across social media, the hotel told various media outlets the story was not true. Now, photos have surfaced of Hammer appearing to be dressed in uniform, working at the resort and one source told Variety that the actor is indeed working at the resort selling timeshares, and all other reports suggesting otherwise are inaccurate. The individual stated:

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added that before working as a timeshare salesman, Hammer managed an apartment complex in the Cayman Islands and is living there, so he can be near his two young children who reside there with the actor’s ex-wife, TV host and entrepreneur Elizabeth Chambers. Another source previously told Variety that Hammer had also spent time recovering at a treatment facility since his career downfall.

“He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle. The reality is he’s totally broke and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.”

Armie Hammer’s Attempts on a New Lease on Life

Previously, an employee at the resort said the flyer was a prank and that Armie Hammer was a guest of the Morritt’s Resort and had been golfing with some hotel staff, who later made the flyer and sent it to a few rooms to generate some attention. When reached for comment at that time, Hammer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, also claimed the flyer was fake. Now, this source, who at first said the actor was not employed at the resort and indicated he “hangs around” the location sometimes, states the hotel was trying to protect Hammer.

Despite his family’s lineage of being the great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer, the source explained that Armie Hammer is not on the family payroll and needs to work a normal and respectable job to earn a living since roles in Hollywood have dried up. Hammer, who starred in Call Me By Your Name and most recently, Disney’s Death on The Nile, has been accused of sexual abuse and improper conduct by several women, dropped by his agency, and fired from a slate of projects. Despite his denial, Hammer’s reputation was severely damaged, and there are no other projects lined up.
