As We See It was created by Jason Katims. It is based on the original Israeli series On the Spectrum and follows three friends living on the autism spectrum, starring Rick Glassman, Albert Rutecki, and Sue Ann Pien. All three actors are autistic, as are their characters, adding some authenticity to the story. Prime Video’s official description of the series is as follows:

The series also stars Sosie Bacon, Chris Pang, and Joe Mantegna. Katims, who also served as showrunner, executive produced alongside Jeni Mulein, Danna Stern, Dana Idisis, Yuval Shafferman, and Udi Segal, as well as pilot director Jesse Peretz.

As We See It Won’t See a Second Season

While As We See It is over after a single season, getting the show to be made was still very important for Jason Katims. The creator of the series previously spoke with Entertainment Weekly about how the goal of the series was to bring more authentic representation of autism to the screen as the father of an autistic son. The light bulb above his head flashed once he saw a few episodes of the Israeli series On the Spectrum, and he became determined from that moment forward to get As We See It off the ground.

You can watch the first and only season of As We See It streaming on Prime Video, just don’t look forward to a season 2.
