Atlanta has mesmerized audiences since it began its three-season run in 2016. Nearly six years later, the FX show will conclude the show with a fourth and final season. Atlanta is going back to where it all started, with the 45-second teaser showing Earn (Donald Glover), Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield), and Van (Zazie Beetz) returning to the liquor from The Big Bang season one episode. A few months ago, Variety reported Glover’s thoughts on the final season during the FX portion of the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
The final season of Atlanta will air on FX this September, with next-day streaming on Hulu. The series’ first three seasons are available to watch now on Hulu.
“Death is natural. I feel like when the conditions are right for something, they happen, and when the conditions aren’t right, they don’t happen. I don’t feel any longevity. Because then things start to get weird. The story was always supposed to be what it was. And the story, it really was us. Everybody in that writer’s room, everybody on set. It really was what we were going through and what we talked about… I think it ends perfectly.”

Zazie Beetz is Sad to Leave Her Character, Van
20th Television
Zazie Beetz has been a main character in Atlanta since the first episode aired, so it will be understandably hard for her to be done with the role. Van has become a significant part of the actor’s life, and September will mark the beginning of the end for the character. During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Beetz commented on her relationship with the show and how much she will miss the series.
Since the premiere of Atlanta, the cast members have become massive stars. Beetz has starred in several blockbuster films, including Deadpool 2, Bullet Train, and Joker. It will be exciting to see what Glover, Stanfield, and Henry do following the finale of Atlanta, as they will have movie after movie calling them for roles.
“Saying goodbye was emotional. We knew going into it that Season 3 and Season 4 were gonna be the last seasons. So we were able to, as we were shooting it, be in that mindset and reflect on that. It wasn’t something that was sprung on us after, so everything was really intentional, and we actually leaned into each other and were more actively appreciative of the process and of the time we got to spend together versus just taking it for granted. I’m sad!”
