Marvel star Mark Ruffalo has teased the impact and scale of the upcoming Avengers outing, Avengers: Secret Wars. In an interview with ET at the premiere for the Disney+ series She-Hulk Attorney at Law, in which Ruffalo reprises the role of Bruce Banner, the actor declared that Avengers: Secret Wars will find a way to surpass the blockbuster epic delights of Avengers: Endgame, and is confident that the MCU movie will be “amazing.”

This being a Marvel project, Ruffalo was careful not to give away any spoilers (he has made some mistakes in the past), but the Avengers star is optimistic that, despite Avengers: Endgame seeming impossible to surpass, Kevin Feige and the studio will find a way.

“Well, it’s gonna be hard to top Endgame, but if I know Kevin and if I know Marvel, it’s gonna be pretty amazing … it’s gonna be a big bang. We’ll go out with a big bang.”

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

While it may sound like an impossible task, Avengers: Endgame did feel like an ending to over ten years’ worth of the MCU after all, anyone who knows the background of Avengers: Secret Wars will already be aware of the cinematic splendor that’s in store.

There have been two versions of Secret Wars in Marvel Comics, but let’s assume that the adaptation will take inspiration from the more recent one. Released in 2015 and written by Jonathan Hickman with artwork by Esad Ribić, Secret Wars finds each universe’s respective Earth combining with each other into ‘Battleworld,’ a planet that exhibits the aspects of the various universes. Created by Doctor Doom, Battleworld contains various elements of different universes, as well as all manner of variants of different heroes and villains, and certainly sounds like a fitting end to the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. But will it be enough to top Avengers: Endgame?

Marvel Has Announced Both Avengers: The Kang Dynasty & Avengers: Secret Wars

While there had been no word on when we would once again see the Avengers assemble following the epic conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios has now officially announced not one but two Avengers sequels.

Making the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con back in July, the first outing, titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, is set to be helmed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton. Though little is known about the direction of the movie, the title suggests that we will see the return of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, who will no doubt have ‘ending the world’ on his mind. Kang is due to make his big screen debut in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Whoever survives the conquering of Kang will then likely appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, the details of which aptly remain a secret. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on November 7, 2025.

Mark Ruffalo will next make his return as Bruce Banner AKA The Hulk in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which is scheduled to premiere on August 18, 2022, on Disney+.
