Last month, former Jackass star Bam Margera had reportedly been hospitalized and placed on a ventilator. After spending several days in the hospital, he was released, revealing that he’d suffered from Covid-19 and pneumonia. Reuniting with Steve-O for the Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast, Margera shared new details about his hospitalization, noting that he suffered five seizures. He says things were so bad that he almost died from it. As Margera explained (via Variety):

Steve-O told Margera that when the news broke that he’d been hospitalized and on a ventilator, he was fearing the worst. From his point of view, Margera also touched on what it felt like to wake up after spending several days unconscious and, in a crude way, explained what it felt like to have the ventilator tube finally removed.

This health scare follows Margera’s struggles with addiction that led to a fallout between himself and his Jackass team. He was fired from the production of Jackass Forever, and this was said to be because of his issues. However, Margera argued that he was taken advantage of in a lawsuit filed against the filmmakers. The lawsuit was later settled for an undisclosed amount, and Margera has since been spending time in and out of rehab.

Despite the negative experience with Jackass Forever, Margera is also still friendly with Steve-O, as clearly seen during their recent chat. He also seems to be over the disappointment of getting fired from the film, noting in a previous interview with Steve-O that “everything’s meant for a reason” and that he “didn’t want to do it in the first place.” You can check out the new interview in full by watching the YouTube video below.
