Leslie Grace has confirmed the rumors that Brendan Fraser is a wonderful person. The two were able to work together on the upcoming HBO Max movie Batgirl, which features Grace as the titular superhero and Fraser also starring as the supervillain Firefly. They’ll be at war in the film, but behind the scenes, Fraser could not be further removed from his character. As Grace recently explains in a Variety interview, it was challenging to portray their on-screen feud as Fraser was such a “teddy bear” on the set.
This Batgirl role is a part of what has been referred to as the Brenaissance, with Fraser getting cast in many exciting roles. In addition to Batgirl, the actor will also appear in Martin Scorsese’s next film Killers of the Flower Moon alongside other movie legends like Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. Fraser will also star in Darren Aronofsky’s next movie The Whale in the leading role.

Batgirl is directed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi (Bad Boys for Life) using a script from Christina Hodson (The Flash). Leslie Grace stars in the lead role with Brendan Fraser as the villain, though the movie will also feature Michael Keaton as Batman as well as J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon. Grace also said how surreal it had all been for her to be working with so many legends on one project. The directors had the same feeling.
Batgirl has wrapped filming and is expected to arrive on HBO Max in 2022, but does not yet have an official premiere date.
