We all know by now that very few fans of the Snyderverse and Ben Affleck’s Batman like to pass up a good opportunity for another hashtag campaign to try and push Warner Bros. Discovery into doing what they want. One such occasion is Ben Affleck’s birthday, and as the Oscar winner celebrated his 50th birthday, many Batfleck fans used the moment to once again demand the actor be given a solo movie as originally planned before the DCEU began to crumble.
Although there has always been very little chance of such a thing happening, the current upheaval at Warner Bros. Discovery suggests that the likelihood of Ben Affleck donning the cape and cowl beyond his current known involvement in The Flash is practically impossible. With new CEO David Zaslav now looking to play a 10-year future for the DCEU, it is very unlikely that a 50-year-old actor in a prominent Batman role would figure in that. As one of those things that simply “missed its time”, the Batfleck movie is one of those destined to always be a what if.

However, that hasn’t stopped an army of fans storming social media in order to both celebrate the birthday of Affleck and try once more to get the Batfleck moving once again. You can check out some of the messages below.
Ben Affleck Seems To Have Secured An Appearance In Aquaman 2

There is no question that the continuity of the DCEU is completely off the radar at the moment, with Michael Keaton returning to play Batman, Ben Affleck out, then in and then seemingly done completely before being back again. That has been the subject of even more confusion with Michael Keaton being suggested to be appearing in the up-coming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but then subsequently being swapped out with Ben Affleck’s iteration of the caped hero instead.
How much of this is down to the recent cancellation of Batgirl, which also would have featured Keaton’s returning Batman, is unclear, but it does seem to prove that Warner Bros. Discovery are still not completely on the page of where they want to see the DCEU go in the immediate future. Perhaps with a kind of reset seemingly coming soon, they aren’t too worried about a few inconsistencies in the next year or so.
Of course, whatever comes of Ben Affleck’s next appearances as Batman, it doesn’t seem likely this birthday blast of #MakeTheBatfleckMovie are going to have any more impact than the previous ones, but at least it has seen Affleck trending on his milestone birthday. Of course there were some regular birthday greetings shared by fans that did not center on his superhero alter-ego. As a prolific director and producer, Affleck is probably happy to see that there are some people there who remember he has a career beyond his work as Batman, and just in the name of fairness, here are some of those messages that also appeared on Twitter today.
