The Avenue has released the official red band trailer for Medieval. Rated R for “strong and grisly violent content throughout” along with some nudity, the movie earns its rating as seen in the new trailer. The film will hit theaters on Sept. 9, and ahead of the premiere, you can get a sneak peek by watching the new trailer on YouTube.

Petr Jákl wrote and directed Medieval using a story by Jákl and Petr Bok based on Marek Dobes and Michal Petrus. It stars Ben Foster, Sophie Lowe, Til Schweiger, Roland Møller, Matthew Goode, and Michael Caine.

“I actually loved this script and loved Petr’s first two movies,” producer Cassian Elwes said when the project was greenlit. “I think he’s going to do a fantastic job on this film. And I couldn’t be more excited to work with Ben Foster again, after my experience with him on Ain’t Them Bodies Saints. He’s one of the greatest young actors working right now.”

Foster can be recognized for his roles in previous films like Hell or High Water, 3:10 to Yuma, The Messenger, and Alpha Dog. More recently, he has appeared in films like Leave No Trace, Hustle, and The Contractor.

Medieval will be released exclusively in theaters on Sept. 9, 2022.
