In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, up-and-coming actress Storm Reid discussed her expectations for a spinoff of The Suicide Squad. She also shared the name of a Marvel character she’d be interested in portraying. In addition to joining The Last of US (HBO) as Riley, the actress is also starring in Missing, along with Idris Elba, which premieres on Jan. 20. Reid had previously teamed up with Elba on The Suicide Squad as the daughter of Bloodsport.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the DC Universe, Reid does not rule out a return for The Suicide Squad spinoff if CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran decide to confirm it. As the topic revolving around the future of DC came up in the interview, Reid confirmed she would be interested in a Bloodsport spinoff of the Suicide Squad.

Potential MCU inclusion of X-Men
20th Television
Despite the fact that it is still unclear whether the X-Men will officially join the MCU, Marvel has slowly been laying the groundwork for a possible integration of this franchise. Of course, the group with eventually make their way to the connected universe, though it likely will be some time until they are introduced. This can be seen in a recent example in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, in which Namor refers to himself as a mutant at one point in the story. On top of that, the classic X-Men: The Animated Series theme played during the Ms. Marvel season finale while the word “mutation” was spoken. With such exciting updates, some of the X-Men characters could surface soon, despite no official news.
In the same interview, Reid mentioned her sights set on a particular role in the Marvel universe. While speaking about any potential comic book characters she would like to play, her answer was Storm from the X-Men franchise, an interesting choice since she shares the same name as the superhero.
MovieWeb can present a concept look at what the actress would look like as the character, which we hope to see come to fruition eventually. Storm Reid’s design as Storm from X-Men can be found below.
“I mean, I think it would be fitting to play Storm. I mean why not? But, you know, in a perfect world.”
Luckily, Hugh Jackman is returning as Logan/Wolverine alongside Deadpool in the upcoming Deadpool 3 film, which means a proper introduction to mutants, and the X-Men shouldn’t be too far off. Whether we see Reid included in the MCU is anyone’s guess, although it’s hard to deny she would be perfect for the role.
