The streaming giant Hulu has just released its dazzling selection of highly-anticipated movies set to hit their catalog in November. From hard-hitting documentaries and endearing comedies, to taut thrillers and quirky romantic dramas, the platform will be adding an exceptional list of new and compelling titles that are sure to satisfy all your streaming needs. Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul joins Guardians of the Galaxy star Karan Gillan in the wonderfully weird, deadpan sci-fi flick Dual, in which the actress will have to battle it out against her own clone for both her identity and her life.

The talented Raph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain deliver commanding performances as a married couple plagued by a tragic accident in the nerve-wracking drama The Forgiven, while Alan Cumming heads back to high school in the unique Jono McLeod documentary My Old School, depicting a real life scandal that rocked Scotland in the 1990s. The always delightful Alan Cumming delivered a tour-de-force performance in Jono McLeod’s thought-provoking, wild documentary My Old School, centering on the 1995 Brandon Lee scandal in which a 30-year-old man posed as a high school student in Bearsden, Scotland.

The veteran actor narrates and embodies the aforementioned fraud Brian MacKinnon via lip-syncing along with cartoon animations and real-life interviews with former classmates and teachers, as he did not want to be filmed live for the project. The uniquely shot documentary had its worldwide premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where it garnered widespread praise for its whimsical approach to storytelling and revealing look at MacKinnon.

With a spectacular ensemble cast led by Karen Gillan, Aaron Paul and Beulah Koale, the satirical sci-fi thriller Dual tells the gripping story of a seemingly terminally ill woman who clones herself in hopes of helping lessen her loved ones’ grief, only to make an inexplicable recovery. Now, the clone wants a life of her own, and the government forbids two of the same person in perpetuity. Despite overcoming her disease, Sarah (Gillan) is forced to train for a battle to the death against her clone, hiring a combat teacher (Paul) to prepare for the life-threatening showdown.

For the grueling role, Gillan had to actually un-learn a lot of her combat skills, having recently expressed, “I have been playing really physically capable characters for years now. So I’ve perfected the art of running like an action hero. All of that. And I had to undo everything for this character because she’s training for the first time in her life.”

Dreaming Walls: Inside the Chelsea Hotel

Once home to some of the world’s most celebrated famous figures like Janis Joplin, Stanley Kubrick, and Mark Twain, New York City’s Chelsea Hotel has been the center of intrigue and mystery for decades, and its colorful history and legend is depicted in the captivating documentary Dreaming Walls: Inside the Chelsea Hotel.

Viewers are given a fascinating look at the origins of the iconic Manhattan hotspot, which rose to popularity in the 1960s and hosted an array of legendary pop culture artists. The artistic film chronicles the renovations the hotel recently underwent as it once again prepares to reopen its doors, inviting curious onlookers a front row look behind its mystical, wondrous walls.

Gina decides to turn this crazy encounter into a lucrative business, hiring a slew of male workers to act as sexy house cleaners for her very eager and excited clientele. Audiences go on an emotional journey throughout the playful picture, in which she rediscovers her own sexuality and shifts both her values and overall outlook on life.

Alone Together

Katie Holmes directed and stars in the endearing 2022 romantic drama Alone Together, in which she appears alongside Jim Sturgess and Derek Luke as a food critic who finds herself sharing an Airbnb in New York City with a stranger during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stuck together for the duration of the lockdown and separated from her significant other, June and the newly-single Charlie (Sturgess) share their double-booked rental and begin develop a close and intimate bond.

Holmes wrote the compelling drama at the beginning of lockdown in 2020, revealing that she was “searching for a way to process all the changes that occurred during the pandemic. I read a lot of stories about people falling in love and falling out of love during the pandemic, and I thought it might make a good film.”

God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty

Billy Corben directed the riveting true crime documentary God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty, a gripping film full of twists-and-turns that follows Giancarlo Granda, a former employee at the prestigious Fontainebleau Hotel who has a secret relationship with Becki Falwell and her husband, Evangelical Christian Community member and former Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr.

Delving into the profound effects and influence their affair had on not only their own lives but the 2016 presidential election, the film sheds light on Fowler’s personal life that would result in the religiously controversial figure resigning as head of the university and the turmoil around the couple. With some Evangelicals more closely aligning themselves with radical politics, and as megachurches are rocked by scandal after scandal in their leadership, now is an important time to watch God Forbid, Christian or not.
