Best Tv Series Coming To Amc In January 2023

In 2020, Anne Rice signed a deal with AMC+ to allow her novels, like Mayfair Witches and Vampire Chronicles, to be adapted for the streaming service. One of the first adaptations to reach AMC+ happened this past October when Interview with the Vampire earned high viewing numbers for the streaming platform. Her subsequent adaptation looks to be as successful when it hits AMC and AMC+ on January 8, 2023.

Mayfair Witches will be the lone new series to hit AMC+ in January. The first season comprises eight episodes, which will be released weekly. Alexandra Daddario will play the main character of Rowan Fielding. Daddario’s most recent role also saw the young actress in a series where she played Rachel Patton in season one of The White Lotus. In Mayfair, she will share the main acting duties with Jack Huston from House of Gucci and Tongayi Chirisa from Another Life. Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is based on Rice’s three-book novel series titled Lives of the Mayfair Witches. The supernatural horror/fantasy trilogy centers on a family of witches whose fortunes have been guided for generations by a spirit named Lasher. The new series hopes to be a close adaptation to the beloved series. Daddario’s character is a neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the heir to her family of witches. Being heir, leaves her to deal with the spirit Lasher, played by Jack Huston, who has haunted her family for generations. Similarly to the novel trilogy, the TV adaptation will continue the fantasy-meets-horror genre. Other notable actors appearing in the first season include Harry Hamlin, who will play Cortland Mayfair, Beth Grant, Hannah Alline, and Jen Richards.
