February is going to be a great month on Paramount+. New seasons of hit shows that audiences love will be released throughout the month. Fans of Yellowstone who’ve seen the prequel, 1923, and have been anxiously waiting for the second half of the first season’s release will be happy to know it will start streaming next month.
The month will also see a brand new docuseries. Titled Murder in Big Horn, it follows the investigation of decades worth of disappearances in Montana. Part of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, and from the executive producer of Murder in the Bayou comes a powerful portrayal that dives into the prominent issue of Native American women vanishing at a higher number than any other ethnicity.
Murder in Big Horn (Feb. 3)
Sundance
The three-part documentary examines Indigenous tribes and their tribal members in Big Horn County, Montana. Directors Razelle Benally and Mathew Galkin examine the cases of these missing Native American women and look into the circumstances of their disappearances, as well as the subsequent few and far between arrests and convictions. The epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) has been prevalent since colonization, and unfortunately, this doc shows us that it hasn’t gotten any better. The new series will be available to stream on February 3.
1923 Season 1 Cont’d (Feb 5.)
Paramount+
Yippee Ki Yay! Four more episodes of the ranching Dutton family are coming to our screens on starting February 5. 1923, a prequel to the infamous hit series Yellowstone, came out in December 2022, but only released four of its eight-episode season. The Duttons are settled in Montana and facing the trials and tribulations that come with life on the frontier.
The mid-season finale left off with Montana’s favorite family readying the ranch for war. After a brief (torturous) month-and-a-half-long hiatus, we’ll get to see Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and the rest of the celebrity cast saddle up their horses and get ready to protect their ranch once again. The rest of the season will be released every Sunday throughout the month of February.
Star Trek: Picard Season 3 (Feb.16)
The Star Trek franchise is enormous and has been around for years. Remakes and spinoffs are constantly being created, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. For Star Trek: Picard, that ending comes sooner than fans may have wanted with the third and final season will be released on February 16.
Patrick Stewart, who plays Jean-Luc Picard, the former general who gets pulled out of retirement in Season 1 for a high-stakes celestial adventure, is back again, getting much more action than the retired captain wants. The newest installment combines everything we know and love from the first two seasons with even more excitement. Get ready to see Captain Picard and the entire crew embark on space travel journeys, dystopian timelines, and new starships.
