While it doesn’t have quite the same prolific output as more seasoned streamers like Netflix and Hulu, Paramount+ is slowly but surely building that mountain of entertainment they’ve been promising since they rebranded from CBS All Access. When they’re not pumping out new Star Trek shows, they turn their attention to dramas that seem like they would be right at home on CBS (or one of the many other networks Paramount owns), but with a bit more of a violent and adult edge.
From returning comfort shows like the new season of Criminal Minds (if you can’t get enough crime in your drama) and Are You the One? (if you still believe love can be found on a reality series) to prestige dramas like Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King, these are all the continuing, returning, and premiering shows you can watch on Paramount+ in January 2023.

Sylvester Stallone makes the jump from the silver screen to the streaming screen with the crime series, Tulsa King, from the folks who brought us Yellowstone and The Sopranos. The series is about a former mafia capo (or captain) who has been exiled from New York City to Tulsa for reasons he doesn’t completely understand. Determined to make the best of it, Dwight (Stallone) goes about taking control of Tulsa by building a new criminal empire. The show premiered in November 2022 and the season’s final three episodes will land starting January 1, 2023.
1923 Season 1 Cont’d — January 1
Yellowstone was an enormous smash hit that no one could have predicted thanks to engaging storytelling and star power like Kevin Costner. The series was so popular, it spawned a prequel series 1883. Now, there is a sequel to the prequel called 1923 that managed to rope in blockbuster names like Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. It is another chapter in the saga of the Dutton family. The first episode dropped in December 2022, and the rest of the series will continue on through January, reaching the finale in February 2023.
Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 1 Cont’d — January 12
Also known as the 16th season of the long-running criminal investigation series, Criminal Minds, this series began to stream on Paramount+ in November 2022. Technically a sequel series, Criminal Minds: Evolution follows the cases of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, a team of people who specialize in studying the behavioral patterns of individuals who commit violent crimes. This new series/season features multiple returning cast members and deals with numerous serial killers who rose to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new season will begin streaming on January 15, 2023.
Are You the One? Season 9 Premiere — January 18
A blend between Big Brother and Love Island, Are You the One? brings together a group of men and women looking for love living together in one big house. Before each season begins, a matchmaking algorithm pairs the men and women together as being the perfect match. During their time in the house, the men and women connect with the intention of supposedly spending the rest of their lives together. If their matches line up with the ones made by the algorithm, then they win $1 million. The eighth season aired in 2018, and this ninth season begins streaming on January 18, 2023.
Wolf Pack Series Premiere — January 26
Based on the novel by Edo van Belkom, Wolf Pack is a supernatural series about teenagers transforming into monsters following a wildfire that seems to have brought a werewolf out of hiding. Aside from the interesting premise, an exciting aspect of the series is it co-stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy the Vampire Slayer herself, trying to get to the bottom of a supernatural mystery. It may be the closest thing we ever get to see her play Buffy again. The show will begin streaming on Paramount+ on January 26, 2023.
