Peacock started 2023 with a bang — its January offerings have proven to be a revelation, particularly Poker Face, Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson’s critically acclaimed murder mystery series starring Natasha Lyonne and Adrien Brody, alongside a slew of oldies-but-goodies in the movie department.

The streamer is premiering more new content this coming month. Let’s take a look at what February has to offer subscribers.

The Mehdi Hasan Show (Feb. 1)

     Peacock

The British-American journalist Mehdi Hasan cut his teeth in British television, with stints on the BBC and Channel 4 before beginning his current affairs show on Peacock in late 2020. The response was such that MSNBC picked it up the following year. Known for his trenchant views on everything from conflict in the Middle East to the abortion issue, the Oxford-educated broadcaster and political commentator has interviewed a host of luminaries and holders of high office on the show since its inception, including the professor and chief medical adviser to Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci; Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren, and the former mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio. New episodes drop every weekday throughout the month of February.

Poker Face Season 1 Cont’d (Feb 2.)

     Paramount Global Distribution

Poker Face continues its run, with Lyonne impressing as Charlie, a casino worker with a remarkable gift — the ability to tell if someone is lying just by looking at them. Before long an unexpected death puts Charlie’s position at the casino in jeopardy, and she is forced to hit the road, putting her unique skill to use in whichever town she finds herself in.

The concept bears more than a little resemblance to some cop and detective shows of the 1970s when the genre arguably enjoyed its greatest heyday, and the old-school format has been seen by many commentators as a breath of fresh air in today’s meta-savvy media environment. The show has attracted a remarkable collection of big — and small— screen talent in its guest spots, including familiar faces such as Orange Is The New Black’s Dascha Polanco, Cheers and Toy Story alum John Ratzenberger, and The Good Place’s Jameela Jamil. New episodes drop every Thursday through March 9.

Quantum Leap Season 1 Cont’d (Feb. 7)

     NBC

NBC’s continuation of the iconic 1990s sci-fi show has proven to be a big hit with viewers, with Raymond Lee, in particular, coming in for praise for his portrayal of the spiritual successor to Scott Bakula’s character, Samuel Beckett. Lee plays Dr. Ben Song, the man at the center of the rejuvenated project to send people leaping through history. With Caitlin Bassett playing Song’s fiancée Addison, Mason Alexander Park (Cowboy Bebop, The Sandman) as Ian, the man behind the Quantum Leap project, and Ernie Hudson playing the head of the project “Magic” Williams, the makers have assembled a team to rival the well-liked trio of Bakula, Dean Stockwell (Al), and Dennis Wolfberg (Gooshie) in the original — it’s no surprise to find that a second season has already been commissioned. New episodes will drop every Tuesday.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey (Feb. 8)

     Bravo

New episodes of the thirteenth season of the hit reality television show begin dropping on February 8 and will see the return of Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Margaret Josephs, and Dolores Catania. Giudice had a busy 2022, with a well-publicized appearance on the most recent series of Dancing with the Stars.

But the cast will also be joined by new housewives Danielle Cabral and Rachel Fuda. Cabral is a businessperson specializing in clothes — she has her own successful brand of children’s clothing — while Fuda also owns businesses, including a restaurant, in partnership with her husband. Expect the usual mix of drama, “this is awkward” moments, and personal vendettas — and there may be one or two familiar faces dropping in during the course of the season.

Bel Air Season 2 (Feb. 23)

Premiering on February 23, the second season of Peacock’s reimagining of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sees the return of Jabari Banks in the lead role as Will Smith, with Cassandra Freeman and Adrian Holmes playing the roles of Will’s aunt and uncle Vivian and Phil, respectively. The season promises an evolution of the relationship between Will and Carlton (played in the reboot by Olly Sholotan), as well as the appearance of a new character in Will’s life who will begin to try and exert control over him, all set against the backdrop of a newly complicated relationship between Will and the Banks family after the revelations of last season. The first three episodes will be made available simultaneously on February 23, with the remainder of the series dropping on a week-by-week basis after that.
