The Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul has garnered even more award recognition for its acclaimed sixth and final season. Debuting in 2015, the series features Bob Odenkirk taking center stage as Jimmy “Saul Goodman” McGill, the corrupt attorney he played in four seasons of Breaking Bad. The spinoff, which has been commended for its stellar acting, also stars Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler), Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin), Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut), Michael Mando (Nacho Varga), Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring), and Tony Dalton (Lalo Salamanca).
Even with the series over, the acclaim keeps on coming with more love for Better Call Saul at the Critics Choice Awards. Per THR, the nominees have been announced, and Better Call Saul is very near the top with five total nominations. It’s second to only ABC’s hit sitcom Abbott Elementary, which managed to score six nominations. Though, there are no categories where the two titles compete, given the differences in their genres.

Better Call Saul Will Have One Last Shot to Win an Emmy in 2023

Better Call Saul has managed to win many major awards, but the one that has always eluded the hit show has been the Primetime Emmy Awards. Since its inception, Better Call Saul has been nominated 46 times for an Emmy, but not once has the show managed to take the win. Some were hoping that it would finally pick up some Emmys this year, as it had multiple nominations, but once again, it took home no awards.
However, there will be one last chance for the show to win an Emmy. Because the final season was split up into two parts, its second half falls within the time period that allows it to be eligible for the Emmy Awards in 2023. Maybe, just maybe, it’ll pick up the win with its final attempt.
