The acclaimed comedy Bros has gotten its Peacock premiere date. The NBCUniversal-backed streamer has announced that the film will start streaming exclusively on Peacock on Dec. 2, 2022. Bros is touted as the latest movies to join Peacock’s growing library of available movies to stream, having recently offered other big-name releases like Nope, Beast, Jurassic World Dominion, Minions: The Rise of Gru, Halloween Ends, Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul, Vengeance, and Brian and Charles.
Billy Eichner co-wrote Bros with director Nicholas Stoller. Eichner also stars in the film as part of an all LGBTQ+ principal cast alongside Luke Macfarlane (Killjoys), Ts Madison (The Ts Madison Experience), Monica Raymund (Chicago Fire), Guillermo Diaz (Scandal), Guy Branum (The Other Two), and Amanda Bearse (Married …with Children). Judd Apatow produced with Joshua Church and Stoller while Eichner executive produced.
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
The film stars Eichner as a podcast host who’s not looking for a serious relationship, but everything changes when he meets lawyer Aaron (Macfarlane). While both have enjoyed playing the field up to this point, their feelings for one another have them reluctantly heading towards a committed relationship with many moments of hilarity along the way. It’s a story that landed well with those who saw it, boasting a strong 88% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an even higher audience score of 90% fresh.
Bros Was a Hit With Critics Despite Its Box Office Shortcomings

Bros was developed with the goal of getting people into the movie theater to watch a heartfelt and fun new comedy. In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb about the film, Eichner spoke about his dream of having the film packing movie theaters with crowds sharing a laugh together, especially after the pandemic heavily changed the movie theater industry. He lamented how most comedies seem to go straight to streaming these days, and he preferred to give Bros a shot in movie theaters instead.
“I want Bros to remind people of how much fun it is to go to a movie and laugh with hundreds of other people in a theater,” Eichner said. “We haven’t gotten very much of that in the past few years. They don’t release many comedies in theaters anymore. Comedy became a thing that goes straight to a streaming platform, and you watch it at home alone. Or maybe with one or two other people.”
While streaming wasn’t Eichner’s first choice for the release of Bros, it’s possible that the film will find more fans with its arrival on Peacock where more viewers will be giving it a chance from the comfort of their own homes. For his part, Eichner has suggested that homophobia played a part in the movie coming up short, and while it’s hard to point to any one specific reason for Bros bombing, it’s clear from a look at the reviews that the people who bothered to watch it really seemed to enjoy it.
