MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Noah Centineo

     Warner Bros. Pictures

Noah Centineo is Al Rothstein, a.k.a The Atom Smasher. Atom Smasher has a history of being friends with Black Adam in the comic books. While the two were initially at odds, they would soon come to see each other as brothers, with Atom Smasher leaving the Justice Society of America at Black Adam’s behest. While WWE superstar, Edge, would portray the character on television, Noah will take on the role after enjoying time as a main character, Hawk Carter, in the thrilling young adult series T@gged. The young actor would get to have an appearance in the action movie adaptation of Charlie’s Angels (2019).

Aldis Hodge

     Showtime

Aldis Hodge will be donning the majestic wings of Hawkman. Hawkman can often be depicted as a savage warrior in the pages of DC comics, and the character’s previous appearances on screen have equally displayed a high level of aggression. It is likely that Aldis Hodge will see quite a bit of action when he butts heads with the similarly headstrong Black Adam. Aldis Hodge is familiar with intense films as he has experience performing as a police detective, James Lanier, in The Invisible Man (2020). Embodying the serious tone needed for the role, Aldis Hodge will have no issue taking on the dour demeanor of Hawkman. Hodge also has experience working with DC as he has voiced John Stewart in Green Lantern: Beware My Power.

Pierce Brosnan

     MGM/UA Distribution Co. Releasing

Pierce Brosnan takes on the role of Kent Nelson, an architect who had discovered the helmet of Nabu. This helmet would house the magical entity, Nabu, who would possess the wearer of the helmet and use their body to their whims. While Doctor Fate is a being of order, he has been known to act against the wishes of his host from time to time, so Pierce Brosnan takes on a dual role in this film. Pierce Brosnan is most known for performing the role of James Bond in four different films, including Goldeneye (1995) & Die Another Day (2002). This work in an action-packed franchise gives Brosnan a substantial amount of experience heading into Warner Bros.’s newest superhero epic.

Sarah Shahi

     Warner Bros. Television Distribution

In the comics, Adrianna Tomaz would become the counterpart to Mary Marvel, becoming a member of the Black Marvel Family. Going by the name of Isis, Adrianna would work alongside Black Adam to defend her homeland of Khandaq. It is not unheard of for Isis to work alongside Shazam, as the character made their debut on television serial The Shazam/Isis Hour. Sarah Shahi will be taking on Adrianna’s cinematic debut and is doing so with a bevy of television experience. Shahi has performed as Rachel Benham in City on a Hill, Jessica Russo in The Rookie, & Billie Connelly in Sex/Life. Sarah also has brief experience in the DC Universe, having provided voiceover work for Killer Frost in Young Justice.

Viola Davis

Amanda Waller returns to the DC Extended Universe, and this time she’s bringing the big guns as she gathers a team to take on the powerhouse that is Black Adam. Waller is known for giving orders to criminals in Task Force X, so she has sought quite the upgrades, going from disgraced criminals to all-powerful and, in some cases, magical beings. Viola Davis is more well known for her work as Amanda Waller, a role she first performed in Suidice Squad (2016). Viola Davis has proven to be an excellent crossover star between film and television, performing in roles such as Annalise Keating in How to Get Away With Murder & performing as first lady Michelle Obama in The First Lady.

Dwayne Johnson

     Sony Pictures Releasing

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made himself known as an action star before ever stepping foot onto a set, thanks to his time in the World Wrestling Federation (now known as WWE.) Making his debut in the DC Extended Universe, Dwayne Johnson takes on the mantle of Black Adam, the ruler of Khandaq and wielder of the powers of Shazam. Dwayne Johnson is no stranger to action-packed blockbusters, finding his big break in The Mummy Return (2001) as the Scorpion King. He would lead in films with impressive box-office success, most notably Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017). Johnson would also produce and feature in his own sitcom Young Rock.
