Blue has just Skidoo’d her way into a fifth season at Nickelodeon. The live-action/animated hybrid series Blue’s Clues & You!, which serves as a follow-up to the long-running show Blue’s Clues that aired on Nickelodeon, has just been renewed by the network for season 5. Per Deadline, it’s a renewal that comes along with other big-name Nick shows getting renewed as well, including PAW Patrol for season 10 and SpongeBob SquarePants for season 14.
Blue’s Clues originally aired on Nick from 1996-2006. Its premise followed a live-action host living in a CG-animated world, joined by his best friend Blue. Encouraging audience participation, the host - originally Steve Burns’ Steve and later Donovan Patton’s Joe - plays games and sings songs while looking for blue paw prints to help find “Blue’s clues.” The show remains one of the most well-known preschooler programs, eventually leading to the decision to reboot Blue’s Clues with the new show.

Blue’s Clues & You! premiered on Nickelodeon in 2019. Co-developed by original series creators Angela C. Santomero and Traci Paige Johnson, with Johnson also back as the voice of Blue, the show introduces Josh Dela Cruz as new host Josh. The character is cousins with Steve and Joe, both of whom will show up for special appearances on Blue’s Clues & You!. The animation style will be familiar, though Josh has his own unique way of performing the classic songs from the series, such as “We Just Figured Out Blue’s Clues.”
Blue’s Clues & You Will Hit the Road This Fall
The continued popularity of the latest iteration of the Blue’s Clues franchise has inspired Nickelodeon to take the show on the road. This fall, the Blue’s Clues & You! Live On Stage show will be hitting different cities in the United States for young fans to help find Blue’s clues in person. It will feature Josh joining Blue, Magenta, and Rainbow Puppy in an original musical story. It is described as a Broadway-style show appropriate for kids and families to enjoy, with rainbow making, a music video, and even a segment set in space.
“We are thrilled to partner with Nickelodeon by bringing one of the foremost franchises in kids’ entertainment to the stage in Blue’s Clues & You! Live On Stage,” said the tour’s producer, Round Room Live co-president Stephen Shaw, in a statement. “Blue’s Clues is an iconic show that has captivated and educated children for years. We couldn’t be more excited to share our love of ‘Blue’s Clues’ with the next generation of fans in a memorable experience for the whole family.”

A new movie featuring all three Blue’s Clues hosts, dubbed Blue’s Big City Adventure, is also coming to Paramount+ in November.
