The film is based on the popular game franchise which follows Mike Smith (Hutcherson), a just-hired security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a restaurant with singing and dancing animatronic animals. According to the film’s tagline, Mike realizes during his very first shift that “the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.” For the creation of the film’s animatronics, Blumhouse is collaborating with award-winning special and visual effects company Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
