There are many fans who feel the time is right for Bob Odenkirk to finally host Saturday Night Live. These days, Odenkirk may be best known for his role as Jimmy “Saul Goodman” McGill in the hit drama shows Breaking Bad and its spinoff Better Call Saul. But while Odenkirk played that role to perfection, culminating in an emotional series finale, the actor has plenty of experience in comedy. This includes winning an Emmy as a writer for The Ben Stiller Show and writing for SNL before later co-hosting his own sketch comedy series alongside Mr. Show partner David Cross.
On Twitter, the official page for SNL put out a post asking people to name the celebrities they would want to see host the show in the upcoming season. It did not take long for many fans to start calling for Odenkirk to be brought in. For some fans, the timing just seems right with Odenkirk coming off of a highly acclaimed performance in Better Call Saul.

“Bob Odenkirk’s time has come,” writes one fan on Twitter. “He just finished Better Call Saul, is an SNL alumni, and we’ve never seen him host. We almost lost him last year, so please, bring him on!”
Lamenting how Odenkirk spent many years writing for SNL but never hosted, another fan said. “Bob Odenkirk was a writer at SNL from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1992 to 1995. I think he should get a chance to host.”
“Mr. Bob Odenkirk!! He will kill it!!” says another fan.
Some Fans Also Want Carol Burnett to Host SNL

There have been other Better Call Saul fans suggesting comedy legend Carol Burnett after recently seeing her back on the screen alongside Odenkirk in the final season of Better Call Saul. That has one fan thinking SNL should go ahead and bring both Burnett and Odenkirk onto the show, because why not?
“Saw this suggestion and agree wholeheartedly,” the fan said of Burnett. “Made the most of a limited role on Saul. At least give her a couple skits as special guest on a Bob Odenkirk hosted episode. Because Odenkirk seems like he should be a given for this year.”
In addition to Carol Burnett, Bob Odenkirk would also make a great host," says another fan. “He can get back to exercising his fantastic comedy chops. Need a guest host? You know you #BetterCallSaul! Dude was even on Seinfeld back in the day.”
And another fan suggests SNL may just bring in nearly the whole Better Call Saul gang by suggesting, “Carol Burnett, Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando.”
Time will tell if Odenkirk does manage to end up hosting SNL. In the meantime, fans can look forward him to his return on AMC for his next starring role in a television series. It was previously reported that he would be leading the cast of a new show called Straight Man. It has been described as a dramedy, so perhaps there will be some moments for Odenkirk to show off more of his comedic side in the series.
