Despite a few shortcomings, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva impressed both Indian and international viewers with astonishingly stunning graphics and action scenes. Following Shiva’s conquest, we’ve seen him arrive at the Ashram of Sages, where he’s been experiencing visions of Brahmastra and the villains who won’t stop till they get it.
Junoon eventually finds him and engages in a fierce battle that results in restoring all of Brahmastra’s pieces. Following that, Shiva miraculously pulls the latent power of Agneyastra in order to protect Isha and prevent the world from being destroyed. The first part ended with a few loose ends, laying the groundwork for the second movie’s storyline.

For instance, the post-credit scene revealed Dev’s resurrection from the sealed statue. Although much has happened in the first film, it is only the beginning of the main story. Given the hints dropped in the first film and the number of questions left unanswered by the conclusion, fans have high expectations for the remaining two films in the Astraverse trilogy. To that end, these are some of the things we anticipate seeing in Brahmastra Part Two: Dev, which is expected to arrive in 2025.
Battle on Submerged Island
Disney+
The battle between Amrita and Dev was one of the best brief moments of the film, along with the history of Astras and the origin of the Secret Society of Sages. While the outcome is obvious due to the film’s narration of Amitabh Bacchan’s Guru, it would be a fantastic experience to watch the combat on the big screen with the film’s magnificent visuals.
As the film puts it, Dev, Shiva’s father, has mastered several Astras, unlike other guardians, and after desiring the most powerful Brahmastra, greed consumes him. When the other guardians try to stop him, they don’t even stand a chance of facing his wrath until Amrita, Shiva’s mother steps in with her remarkable control of Jalastra. The battle ends with Amrita defeating and sealing him on the submerged island, and she vanishes forever after handing the shattered Brahmastra to the sages.
Dev’s True Ambition
Disney+
Unmasking Dev from his seal is the game-changer in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. Junoon’s ulterior motive for activating the Brahmastra is to liberate Dev from Amrita’s seal. Her mission was accomplished, and she plunged off the cliff, but that’s not the end of the story. The prime motive behind all that has happened since the beginning, including the sacrifices of Mohan Bhargav (played by Shah Rukh Khan) and Anish Shetty (played by Nagarjuna Akkineni), remains unknown.
Dev made it quite plain throughout the film that he sought the Brahmastra, but what purpose did he have to take such severe lengths to the point of clashing with her beloved? Fans have yet to learn much about Dev’s past, let alone his ambitions. His character has piqued spectators’ interest for the trilogy’s second installment, which, hopefully, will do justice to his character by writing him a decent backstory and solid ambition befitting his cruelty.
Shiva’s Character Development
Shiva is powerless in the story as he is now, apart from demonstrating impossible resolve and preventing Brashmastra from unleashing destruction on Earth. The film shows this many times, starting with his fight in Varanasi against Zor and concluding with his battle against Junoon. Despite learning the fundamentals of controlling the Astras, he is far from mastering his Agneyestra. Meanwhile, Dev is insanely strong to the verge of mastering every Astra in existence. With the first film’s conclusion, we’re certain Dev has been awakened, and the first thing he’ll do is seek out Brahmastra.
Fortunately for Shiva, he has Guru, who has mastered Prabhastra (also known as the Sword of Light) and defeated Zor in battle. With his experience, training Shiva might be doable, but getting him to the point where he can contend with Dev in a fight would be challenging. That being said, we never know how cinematic geniuses’ brains function, and they always manage to pull off the seemingly impossible, like introducing a fascinating character like Dev or making the unthinkable attainable with Shiva’s character development.
Ayan Mukherji, the creator of Astraverse, revealed a few details regarding the story’s development in the trilogy’s second film in an exclusive interview with Indian Express. He stated,
He also expressed his opinions on the film, including how it will swing between current and past timelines, and described the narrative in two ways.
“I can answer very few things about Dev. The idea was to create an unambiguous indication about where we are going next with the storytelling. That now we are really getting into the story of our antagonist. Decoding it, giving you some hook to hang on to for part two. Dev is the fulcrum of the entire Brahmastra trilogy.”
While many mysteries remain unsolved, viewers can only wait until Brahmastra Part Two: Shiva is released, which is expected to be in 2025, as intended by the creator of Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.
“His story is meant to take us back into his past, but also he has returned into the present. So, the idea is, we will be continuing the present story but also telling you the story of the past. I really feel we will really come into our own with our storytelling in part two. I have known that for a long time. Part one was just the foundation, the setup of this story. But I can’t tell you who Dev is. When the time is right, I will announce.”
