A Breaking Bad reunion recently took place at a Costco and the footage is getting a lot of attention from series fans on YouTube. These days, Breaking Bad stars Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston have been paying visits to Costco locations and liquor stores to meet with fans and promote their mezcal brand, Dos Hombres. At one of these stops, former child stars and Breaking Bad alums Dylan and Brandon Carr approached Paul to say hello and the surprise reunion was captured on video. The meeting happened on July 30, 2022, and you can watch the clip below.

In the clip, Paul is initially left speechless, as he instantly recognizes the two boys even though they’re now much bigger than they were in Breaking Bad. Paul then insists that they all take a picture together, clearly stoked to reunite with his “Peekaboo” co-stars. Cranston is also happy to say hello to the twins, making sure to give each one a fist bump.

Some fans of Breaking Bad may not have realized that the young boy played in “Peekaboo” was shared by twin child actors. This is not unusual in show business as child actors can only work for so many hours in a week, so having twins share one role can allow for more footage to be filmed with their character during that time. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen portraying Michelle Tanner on Full House is another very famous example of this, and it happens fairly often elsewhere in both film and television.

“Peekaboo” Stands Out as a Powerful Breaking Bad Episode

     AMC

The “Peekaboo” episode left an impact on many viewers when it first aired in 2009. In the season 2 episode, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) heads to the house of a pair of addicts who stole meth from his dealer friend, Skinny Pete (Charles Baker). Inside, he is shocked to find a neglected 5-year-old boy who has been left to fend for himself in the ramshackle home. Doing what he can to entertain the child, Jesse plays “Peekaboo” with him and even manages to get the kid to smile.

By the end of the episode, the boy’s father has been killed by his mother with a stolen ATM before she passes out, completely strung out on meth. Before fleeing, Jesse makes an anonymous call to the police, knowing that the boy will be saved by child protective services. In a touching moment, Jesse makes sure to say his goodbyes and wish the young boy well by telling him, “You have a good rest of your life, kid.”

Meanwhile, the Breaking Bad universe is very soon coming to a close with just two episodes left of the spinoff series Better Call Saul left to air. The final season brought back Paul to reprise his role as Jesse Pinkman alongside Bryan Cranston as Walter White, linking the prequel series to the original show in a major way. The final two episodes air the next two Monday nights on AMC.
