Fans of Bruce Willis have been saddened by the news of his retirement, but as one co-star of his newest film says, the prolific actor is “going out a legend.” Kelly Greyson, an actress and stuntwoman who’s collaborated with Willis on several projects, appears with the actor in the new film Fortress: Sniper’s Eye. That movie was filmed just over a year ago before the recent announcement that Willis was retiring after he was officially diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects speech and communication skills.
Per Fox, Greyson said the news of Willis’ diagnosis took her by surprise, as she hadn’t noticed the actor having difficulties on set during their time working together. What she hopes is that his retirement will help remind his fans of his legacy and his amazing career as opposed to keeping the focus on his health. As Greyson says:

Greyson also spoke about how kind Willis was to her and everyone on set, despite rumors that he could be difficult to work with. The veteran actor is said to have been friendly with everyone and would often spend time with his fellow cast and crew members.
““I never heard of [his] diagnosis previously. But my memory of working with Bruce is how friendly he was and really, really talented at his role. He’s definitely a professional. He’s going out as a legend with a beautiful career behind him… I have been privileged to work with him numerous times in the last couple years. It was a gift to be able to get to know him as a person and see how authentically kind he is in real-life. The narrative about him right now should be about the amazing career he’s had.”
“Thinking back, he was more down to earth and engaging and kind-hearted than I would have anticipated. A lot of times stardom gets to people’s heads. He definitely is super suave on-camera but just in real life he did embody those things. That’s a huge compliment to someone of that international notoriety for them to also just be a good human… As far as being on set and interacting with people, yes, he would hang out and watch on the screen. He’d watch some of the actors doing their roles. He’d sit and talk with the director. I think he interacted well just on a personal level with people.”
Bruce Willis and Kelly Greyson Share a Scene in Fortress: Sniper’s Eye
Greyson teased a scene she shares with Willis in their upcoming film, due to release later this month. She had previously worked plenty with Willis on other projects, but Greyson recalls that it was a “very cool moment” working with the actor again for this particular scene, which is ultimately one of the final performances of the Die Hard star.
Fortress: Sniper’s Eye will be released on April 29, 2022, courtesy of Lionsgate.
“This one I think he was recovering from a previous fight. We had a scene in a hospital room so we were talking about what’s happening next. It was a very cool moment. In the other films there’s lots and lots of scenes as well. It’s always been a good time.”
