Just when fans think they’ve seen the last of Bryan Cranston in his Breaking Bad role as Walter White, the almighty Heisenberg always finds new ways to return to the spotlight. For five seasons of Breaking Bad, Cranston played the part to perfection, garnering several Emmy Awards by the time the series ended in 2013. Despite the show’s conclusive ending for the character, Cranston has since continued to make special appearances as Heisenberg, and he’ll soon be back on television in the role once again.

Recently, it was teased that the PopCorners Popped-Corn Snack ad for the Super Bowl would have a Breaking Bad theme, but it wasn’t entirely clear if Cranston would specifically appear as Walter White. Now, his appearance has been officially confirmed with a clear image that shows him as the expert meth maker in the Albuquerque desert holding a bag of the tasty snack food. Cranston also shared the image on Instagram to speak about his return as the fan favorite Breaking Bad protagonist once again.

Frito-Lay also wants Breaking Bad fans to know that PopCorners is an “air-popped, never-fried snack that breaks convention and changes snack time for the better. With a flavor-packed crunch and wholesome ingredients, unlocking snacking possibilities never tasted so good.”

“We are excited to revive one of the most famous television shows of all time to tell the PopCorners’ story for the first time at the Super Bowl… and we can’t wait to see fans’ reactions to who and what’s coming,” Frito-Lay VP of marketing, Rhasheda Boyd, also said in a statement ahead of the official unveiling of Cranston’s return.

Bryan Cranston Continues to Make Appearances as Heisenberg

     Sony Pictures Television

Cranston has returned to the role of Walter White just last year, appearing in multiple episodes of the prequel series Better Call Saul. He hadn’t appeared in the show’s first five seasons, casting doubt with some fans on if he’d return. Cranston also played Heisenberg in 2015 for a different Super Bowl ad promoting Esurance; in that ad, he was working at a pharmacy.

When Better Call Saul ended, it really seemed like that would be the end of Cranston playing Walter White. But as we’re now seeing, it wasn’t very long at all before he has his Heisenberg hat back on for another appearance in the role. Not that the fans are complaining.
