The Mandalorian’s third season is already set to be one of the biggest series to ever stream on Disney+, and as the recent trailer broke records, the show’s star Carl Weathers has been hyping up fans for what he calls a “slammin” season. Weathers will reprise his role as Greef Karga and also directs one episode of the new season. While speaking with Gambit, Weathers was more than happy to build up expectations for the new episodes, saying:
The Mandalorian is currently the jewel in the crown of Lucasfilm’s Disney+ Star Wars shows. Having not put a foot wrong in its first two seasons, nothing will stop the new season from being another record-breaker on the platform. In addition to many returning characters, the new season expands the already hefty list of directors who will be helming at least one episode each. This includes franchise veterans such as Rick Famuyiwa and Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as new additions such as Lee Isaac Chung.
“I can say this: I’m going to be in it. I can say I directed an episode of it. I can say it’s going to be slammin.’ It’s going to look bigger than the other seasons did. And if you’re not entertained, we’re coming after you. It’s gonna be fire. Right?”

The Mandalorian Season 3 Will Be Bigger in Scope Than Previous Seasons
Disney
The Mandalorian started as a quite simple story and landed as one of the most praised Star Wars entries since the original trilogy. Now the story is growing, which means the series’ scope and scale is also pushing boundaries. With the series utilizing The Volume, as well as many high-tech practical effects, there will be no shortage of spectacle in the new season, something showrunner Jon Favreau previously teased, commenting:
Obviously, at the heart of The Mandalorian’s story is the relationship between Pedro Pascal’s lead character Din Djarin and Grogu, “The Child” that he has been attempting to protect across the previous two seasons since becoming acquainted with the small, Force-wielding “Baby Yoda.” However, fans are hoping for more jaw-dropping moments that have been scattered throughout the series. With more cameo appearances and plenty of action guaranteed, The Mandalorian is set to debut on Disney+ on March 1.
“I will say that the scope of it is getting bigger, we have really cool space battles, we have lots of Mandalorians, we have the planet of Mandalore which we’ve been talking about for a long time. We get to see the Mandalorian culture, and many of the wonderful actors you’ve seen in previous seasons return, and you’ll see them all work together on this show. It’s been a very ambitious season, a lot of our directors have returned, we have a very experienced team that have been working together for a long time and I think a lot of people are going to enjoy what we have in store.”
