The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes had quite the scare after a rattlesnake attack. Per TMZ, Elwes was doing yard work on Monday when he was apparently bitten on the hand by a rattlesnake. As rattlesnake bites can be deadly, the actor was immediately transported by helicopter to a local hospital near his Malibu home. The good news is he is expected to make a full recovery thanks to the prompt medical attention. He also posted a photo to social media of the wound, which is a bit too gnarly to post here, but you can take a look on Instagram if you’re so inclined.

“Bit not by a ROUS but a rattlesnake,” Elwes says on the Instagram post. “Grateful to the staff of Malibu Urgent Care, LA County Fire Dept. and the staff and medical professionals at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for their great care. Am recovering well thanks to all these wonderful folks.”
