Channing Tatum was discovered in Tampa, where he worked as an exotic dancer. After a successful modeling career, Tatum started his acting career in 2005, when he landed his first role in the sports drama Coach Carter. A year later, he starred in the hit dance movie Step Up. White House Down is a 2013 action movie starring Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Richard Jenkins, and Channing Tatum. White House Down follows Cale (Tatum), a Capitol police officer, and his daughter Emily (Joey King), as they take a tour of the White House. During their tour, the White House is invaded by a group of armed men, set on killing anyone in their path. The movie follows Tatum as he protects the president (Foxx) and tries to find and save his daughter. White House Down was nominated for nine awards and won three.

Dog (2022)

Channing Tatum wears multiple hats on this project. Not only is he the lead, it’s also his directorial debut, alongside his co-director and creative partner, Reid Carolin. Dog follows Jackson Briggs (Tatum) and a spunky dog named Lulu, as they make their way across the country to the funeral of one of his battle buddies. The dog is played by three Belgian Malnaois, and is named Lulu as Tatum’s nod to his late Catahoula Pit mix, Lulu. Dog won two awards.

Logan Lucky (2017)

With a knock-out cast that includes Channing Tatum, Katie Holmes, Adam Driver, and Daniel Craig, this comedic heist movie follows Jimmy (Tatum) and Clyde (Driver) as they try to pull off a heist in North Carolina during a major NASCAR race, and try to boost Joe Bang (Craig) from prison. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Logan Lucky is filled with action, comedy, adventure, and heartfelt moments. This movie is a big step away from the norm for Tatum, where he steps away from the sexy stripper role into something more salt of the earth.

She’s The Man (2006)

This cult classic movie stars Amanda Bynes at the height of her career, Laura Ramsey, David Cross, Julie Hagerty, and Channing Tatum. This 2006 sports-themed romantic comedy follows Viola (Bynes) as she pretends to be her brother, while he ditches school for a few weeks. Viola just wants to prove herself as a soccer player on her brother’s elite soccer squad. While there, she tries her best to conceal her identity and not raise any eyebrows and keep her roommate (Tatum) from falling for her.

21 Jump Street (2012)

21 Jump Street is Channing Tatum’s first comedic role. Starring several top comedic actors including Jonah Hill, Rob Riggle, Holly Robinson Pete, Nick Offerman, and Jake Johnson, 21 Jump Street follows two adult police officers (Tatum and Hill) as they go undercover in a high school to bust a drug ring and get into a bunch of shenanigans. The movie pays homage to the 1980s television series of the same name, starring John Depp. 21 Jump Street won nearly a dozen awards and a sequel, 22 Jump Street, was released two years later in 2014.

The Lost City (2022)

The Lost City is a 2022 romantic comedy, starring Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock, Daniel Radcliffe, Brad Pitt, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Bowen Yang, and Oscar Nunez. This adventure-comedy tells the story of Loretta Sage (Bullock), a romance novelist, getting kidnapped by a deranged millionaire (Radcliffe) and Alan (Tatum), her cover model, flying across the world to save her. As Alan tries to save Loretta, it becomes clear that he is in fact the damsel in distress, and that Loretta’s romance novels are much deeper than they seem on the surface. While Loretta and Alan make their way through the forest, Loretta’s agent tries to find her as well.

Magic Mike

One of the most popular movies of the 2010s, Magic Mike was a hit in theaters. This movie had a lot of big names on the bill, including Matthew McConaughey, Aex Pettyfer, Joe Mangeniello, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, and Kevin Nash. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Magic Mike follows a stripper named Magic Mike (Tatum) as he tries to teach Adam (Pettyfer) how to dance, party, and make money. Magic Mike won nine awards. The sequel, Magic Mike XXL, was released just three years later in 2015, and follows the crew as they head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for their last performance.
