While Daredevil: Born Again will see more of Charlie Cox in his role as the titular crime-fighter, the Disney+ series will have some key differences compared to the previous Daredevil show that first streamed on Netflix. Years after Daredevil ended its three-season run, Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock with a special appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The courtroom setting also opened the door for Cox to return again in the role for a special appearance in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Now, fans should prepare to see much more of Murdock in court when the character is put back into the center position for his all-new TV series. In a new interview with GQ, Cox explains that Daredevil: Born Again will feature more courtroom scenes compared to the previous Daredevil show. A big reason for this is simply due to the fact that the show has been given an order of 18 episodes, three times as long as most of the other Marvel shows at Disney+. Murdock’s work as a superhero cleaning up the streets will certainly occupy some of that time, but having so many episodes also allows for more scenes of Murdock in the courtroom.

Does More Courtroom Scenes Mean Matt Murdock Will Get Some Help from Old Friends?

If Matt Murdock will be back in action as an attorney, will his non-superhero pals be there to help him in Daredevil: Born Again? There has been some hope with fans that other characters from the prior series will also return alongside Cox as Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk. However, nobody else has yet been officially confirmed as of this time. For what it’s worth, Deborah Ann Woll says she’s hopeful she’ll get to return, feeling Karen Page has more story that needs to be told. Cox has also called the old cast the “beating heart” of Daredevil and hopes to be joined by more of his former co-stars.
Daredevil: Born Again will be shooting pretty much throughout 2023 with plans to debut the series in early 2024 on Disney+.
