The house used as the location setting for Tim Burton’s 1990 cult classic, Edward Scissorhands, is now on the market for a lucky movie buff. The house is looking to sell at the price of $700k.

Located in Lutz, Florida, just 20 minutes outside of Tampa, the house is filled with memorabilia from the Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder classic. This is all thanks to the house’s previous owner Joey Klops who bought the house two years ago for $230k. Klops went full force into the house’s history, stocking it with memorabilia from the movie. The house went up for sale as of last Wednesday and the previous owners told TMZ that they plan on leaving all the memorabilia for the new lucky owner, saying the new homeowner will be able to “live in a true wonderland.”

Since purchasing the three bedroom, two bathroom house in 2020, Klops and his wife have been renovating the space to return it to the look from the film. The couple even completely transformed the residence into an Edward Scissorhands museum they dubbed ‘Scissorland’ and filled the space with props from the movie.

Among the highlights include a mushroom wallpaper covering the kitchen and other rooms to match the film, and even a full-sized Edward Scissorhands mannequin. Klops and his wife tried to keep as many of the elements that were present in the movie as possible, though they did paint some rooms.

The House Is an Edward Scissorhands Fan’s Dream Home

Edward was created by a scientist who died before being able to complete the animated artificial humanoid leaving him with crude scissor hands. In the Tim Burton film, the Florida house was used as the home of the Boggs family. Peg Boggs, played by Dianne Weist, initially met Edward (Depp) at his abandoned mansion while selling cosmetics door-to-door. She then offered the scissor-handed loner a place to stay at her home with her husband (Alan Arkin) and daughter Kim (Ryder).

Aside from the renovations done inside the house, The home’s exterior was also revamped by the family to resemble the landscaping, more specifically the geometric potted shrubs that twirl upwards, made famous in the movie. In addition to the shrubbery, the backyard also includes decorations used in the film, including large colorful letters hung on the wooden picket fence and a tall ladder with chicken wire to help vines grow up it. The ladder was used in a scene in the film where Depp’s character climbs up it to use his scissor hands to turn a block of ice into an angel.

Klops previously revealed that a lot of the props collected for the museum space were acquired from neighbors who kept pieces from production. Additionally, Some props were personally used by Depp, including a set of scissor gloves used in a scene in which he carves the iconic dinosaur shrub.

As if Klops couldn’t get any luckier, he also managed to get his hands on a pack of cigarettes misplaced on set by Depp, which were part of his personal stash and are now displayed in the kitchen of the Tampa abode. The owner even mentioned that Depp was the only person on set given permission to smoke on the Boggs house set.

Klops is now ready to sell his wonderful movie set that he’s made into a home and we can only think who will the next lucky owner be?
