Every year, actors and actresses from around the world sit tight and hope that they get their name announced as someone who has the chance to accept a Primetime Emmy Award. This is no different from any MCU actor or actress. With the explosion of popularity in the last 13 years of MCU movies and TV shows on Disney+, MCU actors are more and more likely to be nominated for an Emmy (whether for an MCU project or something else). This is no different for 2022, as there have been multiple different MCU shows, and shows featuring MCU actors, that have taken over living rooms on a nightly basis.
One thing about MCU actors and actresses is how versatile they are. Fans know these actors and actresses from their insane stunts, amazing battles, and love-able characters. This does not mean that they are limited just to these roles, though. MCU actors and actresses have been able to make their mark on many other TV shows. Fans can always breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their favorite actors and actresses will always be on-screen. Here are six actors and actresses that have the best chance to get an Emmy nomination this year, whether it be for an MCU project or a non-MCU project.

6 Zendaya — Euphoria
HBO Max
As Peter Parker’s love interest in Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Zendaya has built up quite the reputation for herself on her own show, HBO’s Euphoria. Fans could not go more than a few days without seeing her name talked about, and the show was brought up as one of the most popular this year. Two years ago, per Deadline, Zendaya made history for her Emmy win for Euphoria. As such, this time around, the actress is expected to not only get an Emmy nomination for her performance, but also an executive producer on the show. It is impressive to see her doing so well on her show.

5 Tom Hiddleston — Loki
Marvel Studios
The anticipation for Loki was at an all-time high. Fans were captivated by the villain turned antihero who seemingly died in Avengers: Infinity War. Seeing Tom Hiddleston reprise his role as Loki was a breath of fresh air. The show itself did amazing with critics, as it received a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and with fans, becoming Disney+’s most-watched Marvel series. Fans loved getting to see Hiddleston return and, what’s more, pair up with Owen Wilson, an on-screen partnership that ended up working beautifully.
4 Sebastian Stan — Pam & Tommy
Hulu
One of the most scandalous moments in pop culture history was the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sex tape that was released. What was even more interesting was the way in which it was released to the public. This was not a consented release, but turned out to be from a former disgruntled contractor who had access to the tape. Fans, and the public in general, were so captivated by the story that it had to be turned into a TV miniseries. Sebastian Stan, who plays the Winter Soldier in the MCU, was cast as Tommy Lee and did such magnificent work on the Hulu show. Telling this nightmare story was one of the most captivating moments on TV this year. Fans love to see a true story be told, especially one that held such a high place in society and was talked about so much when it happened. As the MCU’s most versatile actor, Stan demonstrated his full range of talent with this performance.
3 Jeremy Renner — Hawkeye
Marvel Studios
One of the original Avengers finally got his own TV show, and it did not disappoint. Fans were loving the fact that they got to see one of the most lovable characters in the entire MCU get his own project. Jeremy Renner was able to take Hawkeye as a background Avenger in the first movie to the main character. The show takes a look at what happens after Avengers: Endgame. Clint Barton had made it very clear throughout the entire first three phases of the MCU that he was a family man, so why stop that angle? Clint is tasked with facing enemies from his past in order to get his family back together.
2 Ethan Hawke — Moon Knight
Disney Platform Distribution
Who said supporting actors should not make the list? Ethan Hawke took his talents to Moon Knight as Arthur Harrow, a religious leader who wants to make assumptions based on future crimes. Although he is not the main character, Hawke shows how important his character is and how valuable he is to the show. TV shows cannot just have one actor at the helm, they need a quality supporting cast, which Hawke provides in Moon Knight.
1 Samuel L. Jackson — The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey
via Apple Studios
One of the most iconic actors in history went from being Nick Fury to Ptolemy Grey. Grey has dementia, but has a burst of remembrance and decides to investigate his nephew’s death with these precious moments. Samuel L. Jackson has talked openly about how he would rather play Nick Fury or Mace Windu, the Star Wars Jedi, rather than chase more awards. That, of course, hasn’t stopped critics alike from praising Jackson’s performance in The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey. Fans are curious to see how much Jackson holds true to that sentiment and what his future plans for acting entail.
