In a bizarre event, Hawkeye star Florence Pugh has been temporarily blocked from posting on Instagram. Apparently, someone complained about Pugh’s latest post, saying she spoiled her appearance as Yelena Belova in Hawkeye episode 4. Florence Pugh made her MCU debut as Yelena Belova in Black Widow. Yelena is the younger sibling of Natasha Romanoff; a role made famous by Scarlett Johansson. While Black Widow wasn’t a massive hit with the fans or at the box office, everybody appreciated the performances of the cast, especially Pugh’s turn as Yelena Belova.

The Midsommar actress was deemed a show-stealer by critics and was set to succeed Scarlett Johansson as the MCU’s superhero spy, Black Widow. It was confirmed last December that Pugh would be making her second MCU appearance in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, alongside Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld. Yelena finally arrives towards the end of the latest episode, going toe to toe with Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, and Echo in a thrilling scene that hints at more serious and high-stakes final episodes, as compared to Hawkeye’s light-hearted premiere.

However, sharing a few “spoilery” stills from Hawkeye has gotten Florence Pugh temporarily blocked on Instagram. And she is not happy about it. Surprisingly, the Instagram post in question hasn’t been taken down. You can check it out below.

In addition to the images, Pugh also shared clips of the climactic battle at the end of Hawkeye episode 4. Just an hour later, she revealed that someone complained about her posts, and now she’s been blocked from sharing anything related to Hawkeye. She uploaded to her story the following statement.

It couldn’t have been just one person who reported her. Instagram doesn’t usually listen to hysterical fans. But whoever it was, or were, must have been offended a little too much by the reveal. On the one hand, fans are reporting Pugh for sharing spoilers; on the other hand, some have been hounding Spider-Man: No Way Home stars to reveal basically the entire plot. The fan community can behave bafflingly sometimes. And speaking of spoilers, those wishing to see Spider-Man: No Way Home should stay wary of social media from December 13 because that’s when the review embargo lifts, and we find out if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appear in the movie or not.

“I never thought me posting love about a show in which I appear on would get taken down.. but here we are. Someone on here complained so I’ve been blocked from posting my own appearance on a show that I’m very much in. Beyond ridiculous. Being in #Hawkeye is a privilege and thank you to all who welcomed me on set and off and all who are watching.”

Marvel’s Hawkeye is an upbeat Christmas-themed show that follows Clint Barton as he takes a young protégé, Kate Bishop, under his wing, and together they deal with enemies from Barton’s past. Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner as the titular superhero, with Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Other cast members include Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, Florence Pugh, and Fra Fee. The next episode of Hawkeye will debut on Disney+ on December 15.
