Mark Braddock, the former business partner of Chrisley Knows Best’s Todd Chrisley, gave more witness testimony on Tuesday in the federal case against Todd and Julie Chrisley for bank fraud and tax evasion. Prosecutors charge that when banks caught on to the Chrisleys’ scheme, the couple filed for bankruptcy, walked away from $20 million in debt, and hid money from the IRS.

Braddock, who has been given immunity, testified on Monday that he and Todd Chrisley had once been involved in an intimate relationship, but after it ended, they formed a “brotherhood” and remained close friends until 2012, when he was fired. On Tuesday, Braddock gave further details under oath.

In court, Braddock said he admitted he had to address the issue with his wife before testifying. He added that he did not want to be speaking publicly about his past affair with Chrisley and that it was the first time he had been with a man. According to Braddock, while he was working for Chrisley’s foreclosure management company, Chrisley Asset Management, he and Todd Chrisley started receiving anonymous text messages threatening to expose them for fraud as well as out their affair. Braddock testified that the texts said, “pay cash, and we’ll shut up.”

Braddock testified that he made four $9,500 withdrawals from the business account and then met Todd Chrisley in a parking garage, where he gave Chrisley the cash “in a little bag” to pay the blackmailer. Braddock, who told the FBI that he committed bank fraud on behalf of Todd Chrisley, Julie Chrisley, and himself, added that he had feelings for Chrisley even after their extramarital affair ended. Braddock further stated that those feelings, which developed when the two confided in each other during their affair, played a part in why he was willing to commit fraud on Chrisley’s behalf.

Braddock also admitted in court that after his falling out with Chrisley, he did become vengeful. Also, upon cross-examination, Braddock admitted to making fake email addresses under fake names, which he used to send incriminating information about the Chrisleys to the government and news organizations. Todd Chrisley has publicly addressed rumors before about his sexuality, stating it did not bother him and that even his wife was flattered that as many men want her husband as there are women.

Neither Chrisley’s family, nor the jury, displayed a palpable reaction to the testimony.
